Woodturning a Smudge Box

In this video I create a round smudge box that is turned on the lathe. I start out with a solid piece of end grain maple and then cut it in half to make the lid and the base of the smudge box. This is a commission piece I did for a friend. The box will be use to burn herbs to cleanse the body, mind and spirit - which is what smudging is all about.
