Your humor, lack of ego and understanding how to make a video fun, makes us binge watch your videos. Do you find epoxy resin hard to work with? We are getting a lot of chipping. We are just getting started and our errors are endless. Just chipping away each simple-minded mistake one at a time. Thank you for your fun attitude and amazing skill.
@squareandlevel18 күн бұрын
I get very little chipping. Using the proper carbide tools is the reason. The negative rake carbide inserts are ideal for working with resin and result in zero/very little chipping. Definitely have to work slowly. Too large of a cut will cause the chips. Thank you very much for watching. I hope you have a wonderful day. (There is an affiliate link to the tools I use in the video description) Scott

Despite decades of travel, I had never heard of a banksia seed pod. Quite certain I've seen them, but this was an amazing creation. The textures beneath the resin and the colors made for two brilliant candle sticks. Your work had me glued to my screen. Am still amazed at the beauty you created. This was truly a phenomenal project and video. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much George. I actually spent majority of yesterday cleaning and doing tool maintenance. Cast iron surfaces all needed a good cleaning and fresh coat of wax. I agree some people underestimate the importance of tool maintenance. Not only does it significantly lengthen the life of your tools, but greatly contributes to their safety when being used. Thanks for watching. I hope you have a great day. And good luck with the BP!! Scott

Another great video! A few questions: 1. I looked on the website for the deep pour epoxy you use and it appears the instructions are more for table top pours. How long of an open time? How long do you keep it in the pressure pot? 2. Regarding the Clean Armor UV resin - did you get that nice coat in one go? No trouble with air bubbles? 3. I know you often use tubes that are cement molds, is that what this is?
@squareandlevel3 ай бұрын
The deep poor epoxy has an 80 minute working time. I leave true pieces in the pot for at least 72 hours. This is only the second time I’ve used the clean armor so I’m still figuring it out, but I seem to get best results with a foam applicator. Applying 3 coats. Wet sanding with 1k grit before 3rd coat. I used cardboard shipping tubes lined with strips of packing tape for the mold in this video. Thanks for watching. And as always hope you have a wonderful day! Scott
