I’m currently building my miter saw table and my regret was not using mdf with the laminate like you did because the plywood I used wasn’t completely flat. When I build a workbench I’ll do similar to what you did here. As a newbie to this hobby I’ve enjoyed your videos. Thanks for sharing your work.

There were beautiful Sweet Gum trees where I worked many years ago. I always wondered if anything could be done with those prickly seed pods.

Gorgeous! I recently made a little standard poodle statuette out of mostly natural materials. Australian pine cones are round and prickly, like what you used, only much smaller.

Master craftsman! I love this vase/jar. It is a treasure. Was watching and thought you could make a table by cutting these in half. Glue them to a board that you like. Add sample sides to hold the epoxy and pour it over them. Remove the sides then polish and add a base. Picking the color of the epoxy that would highlight the seed pods. It would be a great conversation piece.

Thanks for the great video. One area you skipped is the part I am having trouble with my lathe. The hand wheel bearing part. It is very stiff, and lubrication did not help. Great advice on tool rest, which I used and confirm that it worked excellent.

As a child running around barefoot in the summer time those seed pods were the bane of my existence. Your work is absolutely amazing. Do you have an online store where your items can be purchased ?

Is that tool holder you use for the parting something that is manufactured or did you make it yourself? What would you call that?

That was a gorgeous outcome from such an ugly and unlikely lump of wood! All the angles of the vase are beautiful with such contrasting sights of the original piece of timber. One can never know just how spectacular it can become! Well done, Sir! This is my first visit to your channel but I sure will be back for more! Merry Christmas from Down Under ❤️😊🦘🇦🇺🎄

I liked it a lot. I don't think it looks creepy at all. Seems to me like a period piece from around the1890s, that one might find in a darkly lit Edwardian men's smoking den to maybe hold tobacco. The top doesn't bother me either, though I'm sure I would probably like whatever you come up with, also. Thank you. Interesting video to watch.
