It looks like a desert painting. I mean it looks like I could just walk into it. You turned it in such a way that you captured all the wood’s beauty, but left it open to interpretation. If you ever do something similar again, I would be curious to see if streaks of blue and white would create a sky effect. Brilliant work.

I've seen people try to use color in resin to try to make it look like sky or water before, but I've never seen it look convincing. Either they are trying to use too much, intending to enhance the look, or even the most minute amount of dye is too much for the effect to come across realistic looking. Either way I have never seen it successfully accomplished.

I've mentioned before on other channels that I've always been in two minds about resin works. However this is just a fantastic piece that is totally reliant on the resin work. A beautiful bowl from a beautiful burl, but then completely transformed into a story of bowl making and woodturning on a lathe. The clear view tells so much of the makers story. Just Fantastic - be very proud Jim that is excellent!

My god that is divine. I would buy that no matter the price & I'd put it on my bedside table so it is the first thing I saw when I wake. Jim you are a true artisan. I am from Melbourne AU, a bit of a drive from the Mallee but I have been there. Mallee roots burn for hours because they are such dense wood from a desert region.

THAT is stunning!!! It looks like a designer fish bowl. If I had that piece I'd have to go buy some exotic little fish to live in it. Would that even be safe for a fish? I've watched tons of turning videos and this is, by far, one of the most beautiful pieces ever!! I also love that you explain the steps and tools while you're turning.
