First couple uses maybe. But when used daily couple weeks with coffee it come waterproof. Coffee itself does the trick 😉 few mugs already done like this with "visakoivu" and all of them keep water inside it🙂 bad thing in these are the couple first times you use it coffee tastes little bit "woody" but taste will come better in longer use.
