Burl wood is so beautiful and interesting. I was excited for this video when I saw the title of it. I knew you would bring out the best of it. I hope you are doing well and enjoying spring. We have been having a lot of storms here. I live in Mississippi and our state was pummeled with tornadoes. One went directly over our house. Luckily it never touched down. Other parts of the state was destroyed. Unfortunately, 30 people lost their lives and 100s more lost their homes.

Very nice piece! It turned out to become an excellent platter with contrast between light and dark. Do you save the off-cuts from the circular blank you started off with? If you put those in a checkerboard or other interleaved pattern, with wood and resin interleaving, you could make an interesting piece from the pattern created.

I really don’t care for this type of a turn. The wood looks old and beat up and to me it’s a time consumer and you could’ve spent that time on something a lot more worthwhile. Just my opinion.
