I have finally learned something about a technique that was beyond my skill level. Thanks for the lesson.

I have watched several videos tonight about off-center bowls, they were all good but this method was the simplest and easiest to understand, thank you. I have an old piece of very dark walnut that was passed down to me from a father to a son then to me., and I've had it for over 20 years. I think this will do it justice.

A good informative video. Thanks for the tip about waxing the wood screw (having got mine stuck on a number of occasions!) Appreciate sharing your mistake and how you went about remedying it. Furthermore you didn't curse, at least not on screen! Nice work and a nice piece of wood. Tow 'nice's means excellent job!

Thanks for turning this one. Really enjoyed it and as Jim said it's great that you showed the catch and how you dealt with it. Lets us newbies out here know that it can happen to the best of them.

I stumbled across this video by chance and so glad I did. I’m impressed with the way you take your time and describe what your doing and what the next step is. So much so that you have inspired me to go and try one. I am subscribing to your channel because you have a lot of information to share and you do it in a way that is easy to understand for us newbies. A BIG THANKS for all your hard work and time spent making your videos for us in KZbin land. Much APPRECIATED. Mr. B from 🇨🇦

I'm a UK turner & I make zero mistakes. I do, however, have some really fancy firewood for my log burner. Take a look at an old video from Gary Lowe, a scottish wood turner who makes an eccentric bowl using a simpler method.

Very nice, and it’s ok that you had a catch because it’s good to share your method of fixing. I also like the design on the bottom, better than just a plain foot

That was an excellent video, I don't know why I've waited this long to see how these are made... I don't have a second, larger set of jaws and chuck, also, no cole jaws... I will have to find a different way to do it, or just offset my bowl so much that I could have a decent couple of tenons or mortises using my small 50mm chuck jaws. Thank you for sharing this!! Yuval.

+Yuval Lahav Woodturning Thanks for watching, Yuval. If you check out Mike Waldt's video on off center bowl, linked in my description here, he does it with faceplate. There was a good discussion there about using a glue block as well, maybe glued into a slight recess for strength, so you don't lose too much wood to the faceplate screws. As always, there are many ways to turn just about anything.

I liked that turning video very much, and your discussions about the rim and the bottom. My opinion is that the "moon and sun brand" might have bin a little less taken down, so it would have some strong contrast. I'm not sure if you understand me, but it was my feeling when I first saw it. Regards. Júlíus

nice bowl, I like the moon/ sun feature. think if you faced off the top while you have it on the center hole you could sand it then and not flip it just go straight to the off center hole and only worry with the one tennon. have a good one. yak
