I love that you share your creative process with us. A lot of makers only show tried-and-true projects that they're sure will turn out perfect. It's really refreshing to watch someone just work through unusual pieces and experiment with this and that to just see what happens, and I love the pieces you make. That gold flake is a really cool effect here.

Sapele, is a great Figure wood like Iroko, superb for outdoors too. I made my Back Garden Gate and my Front Gate with it. Iroko Fence Posts sanded and Danish Oil is the way to go. Watch for Snipe and Chip out using Power Planer and Router though!

Hey Nick! I’ve been watching your channel From the timid sidelines! I’ve loved your projects! I’ve got a lathe, and the basic set of tools to do spindles...but that’s not my bag! Referencing 'King Midas' every time you talk about something gold is maybe too much but in this instance, 'The Midas Bowl' seems appropriate. You can just see a King removing the lid to help himself to a mass of Ferrero Rocher inside lol

My dad cast a lot of gold leaf back in the 1960-70s. He had in down to make them all well suspended in the resin. With out over loading it. Also he would suspend many objects in different items he made. Wish he was still alive so I could ask him how he did his castings.

They are very wispy and will collapse if you just pour resin around them, though. Might need to try a few things.

We found you by accident but what a happy mistake! It was so much fun to watch you process the changes you made in order to continue your project and turned out SPECTACULAR!! My father is a woodworker, and second generation luthier so I spent many hours with him watching him create and re create things. The gears in his head always turning everything we had was homemade and made from wood. Toys, furniture, pill holders, valentine cards, clamps, ironing board, everything! And I loved them ALL!
