It should work FINE, pasta only gets soft because of the WATER it absorbs, I DOUBT it will absorb the resin which has much larger molecules than water does. And without the WATER , the MOST excess heat will do is BURN the pasta and make it turn brown or black.....but I doubt it will get HOT enough to do THAT even. Edit at the end: Looks good, but I would have added a LOT more pasta flowers. I'd have put them wall to wall so they were touching each other. Just MY opinion.🤷

Please make a bunch of marble size resin balls of different colors, feel a cup with them cover with base color resin like black or white maybe some glow in dark? Turn it into a light bulb (or discoball) shape lamp? That way the light will charge the "glow power" so that even once the light is turned off the lamp will still glow for a while! Please test some of these ideas

I am going to predict that nothing will happen to the pasta except possibly get scorched. It's not the heat that softens it, it's the water and resin has no water. Let's see what happens! Edit: Yep. Just as I thought. Absolutely gorgeous effect.

Love this lamp! Super cool! If you ever decided to go back and do another one, I think you should do multiple random different colors in the wheels, and have a lot of them side by side. Pasta you buy in a store is hard because it's dehydrated to stay fresh a lot longer. Resin is indeed not water and too viscous to get in between the pasta molecules. Also if you heat pasta with no water it will burn but you can soften pasta with water without extra heat. It's a pretty little lamp!

My prediction: The dry resin inside the pasta will help the pasta keep its shape; as the resin cures around the pasta it'll dry out again and have a little bit more translucency to it which will help add to the "stained glass" effect :)
@aprilrichards7622 жыл бұрын
Exactly. If you didn't know it made with pasta wheels, you'd think it was plastic or metal wheels used.

Sooo groovylicious!! They look like hippie flowers to me😻. AMAZING! I thought they would hang on bc of the 2 part epoxy ..but I did kinda wonder! These wagon wheels could be spray painted before adding resin colors for many different variations. Like black wheels with white petals and any other imaginable colors. This is a great idea!!! I can see many resin artists headed to buy them 👌💯💯. Thank you for sharing this!
