I don’t particularly care for live edge bowls but that one is beautiful. I have wanted a circle turning jig ever since I saw one. Now I can build my own. Thanks a million 👍

Love these practical and simple solutions. Plus, I learn a lot from watching you turn, position of gouge, types of rest etc. The Wadkin is also a beast of a lathe, I don't that was the one you used for this video?

Could you happen to give measurements of everything if you get some free time? I really want to make one like yours.
@MartinWoodhead Жыл бұрын
Hi Gary Unless your lathe is the same as mine measurements would be useless to you. The only critical measurement is that the cutter should be at spindle height and obviously the pivot point should be Central to the lathe bed. My design is very simple and crude and was made out of bits and pieces I had lying around and could certainly be improved upon. If you would like to make something similar you should treat it as a concept only! It is not a stress tested peace of Engineering so you should ensure that anything you make is over engineered and capable of withstanding all the stresses and loads placed on it. Good look and thanks for watching! 😊

THAT TOOL COULD TURN INTO A PROJECTILE. VERY DANGEROUS HOMEMADE TOOL
@MartinWoodhead2 жыл бұрын
Of course you are free to express an opinion even if it is wrong. In the interest of balance I should point out the cutter is held captive and its progression through the timber is controlled, which makes it inherently safe! 😊
