I think you're working back-to- front ?? I use the forsna bit on the top , shape it ,turn the foot, reserve chuck it , hollow out , sand then finish ,, 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour ,, I do like your in-lay work ,, Regards Alf

Yea. I had a little trouble with the chuck holding on the top of the bowl (bark side) as you saw when it came off. I like to start from holding the top of the bowl. Completely finish the bottom, using a mortise on the bottom to hold the bowl when I hollow it out. With the bottom completely finished, when I reverse chuck it and hollow it out, the bowl is complete. Don't have to jam chuck it or trim off a nub. Thanks for the tip.

It seems like more and more that the public buys less big ticket items now a days. I sell more of the little stuff. Without those little item sales I would not be able to do real art shows. Maybe one day I will just do craft shows and sell just the cheap stuff.

It depends on when the tree was cut down. I also use CA glue to insure it stays on.
