Woodturning - Sauron's Eye

This piece represent the eye of Sauron, which is a fictional character from Lord Of The Rings univers, created by J.R.R Tolkien.
All colors are the natural aspects of the different wood I used. No paint or dye was added.
Here is the woods I've used:
Ebony (Black)
Bow wood (Yellow)
Muirapiranga (Orange)
Giraffe thorn (Red)
Sipo (Brown)
It's made out of around 585 individual pieces.
38 hours of work.

C'est vraiment incroyable ! Comme promis, j'ai déjà commencé à travailler sur le vase spécial 25k. Ça risque de prendre un peu de temps vu que j'ai 25 milles morceaux à couper :p, alors soyez patient :) En attendant voici l'oeil de Sauron, mais bon là y'a "que" 585 morceaux... C'est vraiment pas ouf hein ......?!

When I watch woodworking and machining videos I think about which of the techniques I already know, which ones I think I can learn, and which ones I could never do. I got a lot of clamps, and I know how to use them. I think I could learn to apply glue that uniformly, but not nearly as fast. The rest of it is in the I'll never be able to do that, category.

As a wood turner from many years ago who had to give it up due to lack of time and gear I was happy just to turn up a bowl or simple vase from a single piece of wood. Mate I can't believe what you are making from a simple pile of scrap wood. You have a real talent there. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more of your fine piece.
