So, I've been a subscriber to Nick's channel for some time now and my good lady wife and I were sat watching this Arctic Glacier being crafted. We were discussing the fact that it wasn't round and that it was unusual but lovely. At the end of the clip my wife says "I really like that" so nonchalantly reaching for my tablet as if to check something out, I logged into Nick's website and bought it for her. Hopefully she will be gobsmacked. Bob in Wiltshire.

@johnweems45864 жыл бұрын
@@LunarNagito probably, but I know that some researchers a few years ago were trying to cast cotton candy in ?silicone? to mimic capillaries. They would dissolve the candy with water after after the silicone set up so they had a little pre-built capillary system in the silicone. It would be cool to see if that were possible in resin, then maybe use a vacuum to pull resin into the capillaries. But it'll probably just be a weird way to color resin.

@@johnweems4586 I think the possibilities of some really cool results might just be worth it. I wonder if you could put an LED in it and get a soft ethereal glow. A kind of mad astronomers light. That really came out beautiful & I love the faceted, crystalline shape. Suits the blue resin perfectly. If you want to cut down on all that sanding, cutting compounds like jeweller's rouge on a flap wheel can be used on something you've taken to about 240/300 grit & it'll polish it up lovely without all the time & mess. it's my go-to shortcut when working with acrylics, but you do need to be a bit mindful of heat buildup (which I suppose is true of sanding too).
