I know this is an older video but I wonder if the “problem” was that when you were injecting the colour, you were swirling the colour. Maybe you would have needed the blue to thicken more, then add the green. Allow both to thicken more to like a cake batter consistency then inject the purple and gold without swirling. Not sure if that’s possible but just my thought. Also, maybe the colour choices are a factor. You may not see much of the green and purple since they’re both in the blue family. Maybe use blue, yellow and red and add a stronger gold. This piece ended up being beautiful.

That thing is WILD! There is a poem called "Warning" by Jenny Joseph which starts out with these lines: "When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter...." Anyway, that what this piece brought to mind for me. Do you guys have a working PO Box yet? If you see this, Mrs. Jim, I sent an email to let Jim know I found both some hop-hornbeam and desert ironwood logs (bark on!) that I hope to donate to him so he can use them for projects. I sent pics and measurements of the pieces I found. Although maybe I should send them after he gets into his new shop so he doesn't have to move them? Let me know. :)

Jim that transition at 11:19 to 11:22 i.e., from the end of pouring to when the epoxy was cured was just smooth! You even timed the ray of sunshine that was coming through the workshop! Coincidence or your videography skills have become as masterful as your Woodturning?! Designer Epoxy.

Have you thought about getting a painter's booth to dry your pieces in? That would probably prevent them from getting sawdust in the finish.
