A drive up Woodward Avenue in Detroit Michigan from Downtown Detroit to Pontiac Michigan. Woodward is known as the M1 and was a big cruise street in the 1950's and 1960's. Highlights on this cruise are the renewal of downtown Detroit, Royal Oak, Highland Park and the Model T Plant, as well as Pontiac. It is set to music that is inspired by the music of the 1950's and 1960's. Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks. I really like when I get a day with good skies. If you notice when I get to the Royal Oak area at 25:50 there are some planes on the right pulling giant banners.

Thanks for the trip, I needed to get out. Downtown Detroit is looking like a beautiful city again these days. Your music choice is great, love it, who is the artist ?

I was born in Highland Park on October 25, 1953, (and don't quite know why I'm writing this), but it's 5:24 AM on a Sunday @ 4/28/24. Obviously, the video is heading North through territory I frequented almost daily by going to Collage at "The Center for Creative Studies" and majored in the obsolescent "art" of Photography, (back in the day, and who cares right?). At any rate, and as a "former BOY STREET RACER" on Woodward between Royal Oak and the old Ted's drive-in Restaurant on the corner of Square Lake, I've found it amusing to see that ya'll are STILL out there. What a shit-hole ya'll live in ! I came to my senses back in 1977 when my future wife and I moved to South Carolina, (at an undisclosed location/County), and I've GOT TO SAY, that I've never made a better decision to date. The "Wife" thing didn't work out well, but I'm as happy as a clam as of this writing and would NEVER go back to the constant grey/gray skies, the marginal "warm" summers and the "nasty" snow-driven shit on the roads I traversed in my 23 years of living there, (I'm now 70 years old and I'm just sayin'). 'Just "fun" watching this, I guess on an abnormal clear- sunny day.

The Renaissance building is still the tallest building in Detroit! The Hudson comes after!

Thanks for the note. Your right I remember reading that it was going to be the tallest but never remember hearing that they changed the design 👍

@lawtonsfinest8622 I did not know he was from Highland Park. I have been thinking of other videos for Detroit and maybe I need to find out about some of the artists that are not Motown from here. Thanks

Yep! He & his folks lived off of Rosa Parks & Puritan till they moved to Pennsylvania to escape depression era Detroit. My first cousin used to go to school across the street from their apartments back in tha 70s. Back in da day that was the creme dela creme of workin class whites, Blacks, Middle Easterners, Native Americans 💯. How I know cause my own mixed race family comes from the same area 😂💯. My great grand auntie, great grand uncle, his daughters aka our 3rd cousins, my own mother & her older brother lived off of Rosa Parks & Puritan two. Now far as I know they moved over there like give or take 100 years ago they probably thought they was Native Americans but probably didn't know they was also half Black lol. My father moved off of Linwood & 6 Mile back in 72. After that later on that year met my mother 52 years together, 45 years married, 10 children, 1 grandchild, 1 great grand child later, HERE WE IS! Also it didn't do any better both my other relatives by blood & marriage married into other families in on the edge of Highland Park in Detroit 🤣. So I'm deeply rooted here between Martin Park, Pilgrim Village, Hamilton Park Subdivision 🤣💯. We might as well be one of the most oldest & biggest families in this area even I don't know the extent of my family in this area 🤣💯. On my one street with house included it's 4 houses of families related to each other. I have a aunt a couple of blocks over & I used to have a first cousin & second cousins behind our house around da corner but the been on moved on 🤣. The Chaldeans at the corner store have Black children & Black baby mamas all throughout our this whole area 2 🤣💯

Since C#$ID there are more remote workers so there is a lot less traffic weekdays downtown. On the weekends when there is something big Woodward traffic can get heavy.

When I see any Japanese and Korean brand vehicles in this video, I think of the criminals and abandoned buildings in Detroit.
