Amazing Woodworking Corner Table or Shelf Wooden joints that interlock with each other to strengthen the wood construction. Woodworking Corner Locking Skills Amazing Woodworking Japanese Engineering Carpenter. In the manufacture of construction, there are those who prioritize beauty and maximize strength, namely the combination of art with the skills of carpenters in creating extraordinary things. In this technique to increase strength, wood glue is added with a note that it is not dismantled again. I work in the traditional way. I will show how people in the past did not work like they are today, which were replaced by the best machines and technology.

I am pretty sure that the documentary on earthquakes that I watched about this type of joint used no glue. They were looking at why many Japanese Pagodas suffered very little damage during catastrophic natural disasters like earthquakes for hundreds of years. If I remember correctly the glue-less joints allowed for much more flexibility. They were a bit more complex and intricate than this video but it was amazing how well these techniques held up over traditional, current methods.
@Steve-hj6xv
@Steve-hj6xv 2 жыл бұрын
@@vernalc2449 thanks. I know that stationary structures don't use glue or fasteners, but maybe a bed frame or kitchen table that are subjected to daily stress and movement might need glue. Maybe the video is a scale mockup for how post and beam joints are made. Pretty cool, though 🙂

What an amazing and beautiful joint! I love how, once you put a top on, every bit of that joint is invisible. That is craftsmanship at its finest! I’m curious to know, Mari - for someone who is just starting out, how long would it take to be able to make such a joint? Also, is there a traditional, glueless joint that might be used to attach a table top?
