Nice job Steve. That over-width trick to allow play on the mitres is so simple but so effective. Tiny tricks like that make such a difference.

Those boxes are coming along nicely Steve. Love your work. I see you got a deserved mention on the Drunken Woodworker I didn't realise David was unaware of your channel. I'm gonna be building a box for Mum soon and I'll definitely be using these videos for reference. Keep up the good work and give Bob a pat for me.

Hey Steve, im 4 episodes in and loving the series. I will say i have been getting abit confused with which box your working on at a time but other than that is is teaching me alot. I'm just starting off with professional woodworking as i'd like to make a business with it. I'm using wood to make very small projects and have very little knowledge about wood working. I have always wanted a workshop from since i was in school doing wood work (i'm now 23) and this series is teaching me alot. Videos are great quality and i have subscribed so i can watch more :)

Plenty to watch, also my other channel kzbin.info/door/X4wxZPvkIhrv9oFtyIaAEg may offer some alternatives on substituting Hand Tools for some machining processes. Are you interested in Furniture Making or other forms of woodwork? Cheers Steve

Honestly im trying to make a business creating pixel art out of wooden 1cm cubes its going okay sold a couple just got aloud more marked out ready to cut and finish. It's more the finishing i am having a problem with. I would love to go into larger wood project in the future im starting small trying to get revnaue so i can buy the larger equipment needed to make the larger stuff, i just gotmyself a belt sander and a scroll saw still waiting on the belt sander should be here tomorrow, but that and a thick square saw is all i got (I call them square saws i think you call them dove saws or something) and i got a mitre block which has come in handy with making the lengths of wood small enough to go through my scroll saw. Its all real cheap

Hey Steve, I'm from Germany and I like to look your Videos so much. You'ra really a an experienced and funny guy :-). Please continue making such Videos. A few things I want to say: 1. Please take your time and show some more closeups between the several steps. Sometimes you jump verry fast from step to step. Such Videos cannot be long enough and nothing will boring :-). 2. It's a question: You use sometimes water for several purpose. Is this water not going into the wood and will there have negative effects? Normally I try to keep my wood dry... Best Regards from a big fan Alex

Hi, I'm sorry but you say something very wrong about sanding. When you sand a piece of wood, you begin at 120, after 150, 180 and finally 220 or 240. Then, you humidify the wood's piece. When the piece is dry, you sand it again at 220 or 240. But you never go back to 120 !!!!! It is a huge mistake !!! If you go back to 120, you can sand your piece forever. It will never end. I'm french so it is hard for me to explain. But the water is needed for the wood's pore. After humidification, the wood's pore ascend to the wood's surface and open. And then, you erase it with a last thin sanding. But if you begin again to 120, you re-open all the wood's pore !!!! And the only purpose of sanding is to erase the pore !!!! And sanding to 400 is non-sense for a normal finish. Bye.

Thanks for the explanation. That's what I love about woodowork so many differnt ways to do things. Cheers Steve

Hi Steve, I've recently stumbled on your channel. Love watching you work, really looking forward to making a veneer box. When you cut the lid off on the table saw, what blade do you have set up? Any particular tooth configuration for cutting veneer?
@Woodworkingmasterclass3 жыл бұрын
Hi Godwin, Please that you enjoyed the videos. No special blade just a thin kerf 40 tpi rip saw. Set it just below the full width so it won't cut all the way through and finish it with either a thin knife of fine hand saw. Cheers Steve
