You have to be pumped at the shop upgrade! You've been putting out nice products for years out of a closet, well deserved. I'm packing my family up and leaving Boston for good next summer, South Carolina bound.. I'm going to get the similar setup that you have with an on-site shop. Thanks for the tour and I look forward to some videos as the shop progresses.

Yo Anthony. FANTASTIC shop Bud. I have no doubt you'll maximize the layout & the efficiency!! Bro., I noticed the grading & leveling stone brought in to flatten the area for the foundation. 3 acres in Jersey, God Bless Ya & I DO NOT want to think of the property taxes LOL!!! I know what mine are & I'm on 0.16 of an acre. Blessings from South Jersey USA!!!

Nice shop. You are the only cat I've seen use the smart bench as outfield for a low height table saw. Are you happy with that setup?
@AnthonyScolaro15 ай бұрын
Right now it’s temporary. As the shop progresses and I have time, I’ll be building a large, mobile outfeed table that will double as a workbench/assembly table. Remember, this is a new shop and the setup will change probably a few times before I get my permanent and most efficient flow. So far things are working fine for now.

Nice set of tools. I have the same dust collector still in the box with the matching band saw. I also stared down the Festool rabbit hole after years of the red and yellow brands. The rest of my current shop build is Powermatic. The question I'm facing is my next investment which would be the Jointer. I'm looking at the 8" helical head Powermatic Jointer but am stuck on the potential regret if I don't go for the 12" Jointer instead. The price difference is significant being $4500 for the 8" and $8000 for the 12" so I'm debating if I really need that extra 4" of jointing capacity? Does your 8" Jointer do all you need it to do or do you wish you had gone larger with that tool purchase?
@AnthonyScolaro15 ай бұрын
I had a 12” jointer years ago and never really used it, I build mostly cabinets, built-ins, fireplace mantels etc. the people who usually need the 12” or greater jointers are ones who make cutting boards, tables and live edge stuff. So you have to look at what you’re building mostly and base your decision on that. For me, the 8” jointer is perfect.

Can u not get a small sliding table saw in the US because they are so much better and they take up just a little bit more room.
@AnthonyScolaro15 ай бұрын
I already had a small 6 foot stroke sliding table saw and I did like it but was unhappy with the inability to straight line rip long boards and full sheets of plywood. I have the room for a full 10 foot stroke slider but since I have a Festool track saw, I use that, which to me is like a portable slider. And I saved over $10,000 that way, which let me purchase my other necessary tools.

@@AnthonyScolaro1 10 grand is a lot for a saw. In Europe you'd pick a decent enough one for about 4 grand used.
