For the few who said that this bench is "to fancy" or "to much work"- If you want a workbench to last a lifetime and more, you do it right the first time like this young man. We are woodworkers and we get a tremendous sense of pride from accomplishing something this beautifully done. My great-great-grandfather's workbench sits in the middle of my shop with great pride. And as a benefit, it is fun! Well, done Young man. Your work is incredible for someone so young. You have a great career or hobby ahead of you. You have a new subscriber!!

Hi Are, I just love the base build of your workbench. The cutouts on the stretchers and the through wedged tenons are awesome. I think I've watched this video 20 times! When I become proficient enough, your bench will be the one I attempt. Bravo! Goota go watch part 2 ... again! Thanks for sharing your talent with us!

Overall it’s a decent table. If you’re not using it for big heavy projects. Its gets unstable when using my jigsaw and handsaw. Table starts to shake and lifts off the ground. Maybe I’m doing something wrong? Also the folding mechanic works great kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh when setting up, but I can’t get the table to fold down. It gets stuck 3/4ths on the way down.

Very nice bench, clean and strong, well proportioned. One caution: never use the miter gauge and rip fence at the same time. It invites kick-back because you are trapping the work between the blade and rip fence while putting pressure on other side of blade. If you need to do that, clamp a stop block just shy of the blade on to the rip fence. Move your work against the stop block while using the miter gauge but by the time the work hits the blade your work should not be touching the block nor the rip fence. There should ALWAYS be space between blade and rip fence when cross cutting. In your case it looked OK because your cut was so shallow - but be careful!

Once you get over the blade of the jointer, you should keep the weight on that side of the wood, in case there is a curve in the board. Otherwise it could lift and you won’t get a flat board.
