Love the vid Steve. I always like seeing ways of hand tools used for these things instead of the usual power tool methods for mixing things up.

Can’t wait to try this, I usually use the table saw the way I’ve seen you do and works awesome, but this way I can use hand tools only through the whole build. Thank you Steve and God Bless. p.s. hope Sue and the boys are all doing well.

I am just starting woodworking. I am excited to begin (that's what brought me to your videos). What projects would you suggest for learning?
@Woodworkingmasterclass3 жыл бұрын
Depends what it is that interests you David. A chopping board is a good place to start, teaches you accuracy in planing and saw cutting sharp 90- degree angles. Then perhaps a shelf or a Box?? Most important thing is you start somewhere! :) It's not so important where you end up but it is vital you start. Cheers Steve

@@Woodworkingmasterclass Thank you! I will try my hand at a chopping board. I just got a new block plane and hand plane, so hopefully I can use those to smooth it out. I watched your videos about using a plane and they were very helpful. I have never used a block plane before. I did not know how useful they were!
@davidlambeth98103 жыл бұрын
@@Woodworkingmasterclass Also, what saw would be best for getting those sharp right angles? Unfortunately I do not have a table saw, but I do have an old jigsaw and a brand new circular saw.
@Woodworkingmasterclass3 жыл бұрын
@@davidlambeth9810 Hi, was thinking more in the line of a Hand Saw. But you can set up a rip fence for the circular saw but the cut will requires some hand plane work. Cheers Steve
@Woodworkingmasterclass3 жыл бұрын
@@davidlambeth9810 I think the block plane is the most useful tool in my collection. I would use it on ever job at some point or other. Cheers Steve
