Moses is not Soon-Yi's son. He was adopted by Woody and Mia, as he recounted the time period of 1992 when the incident was said to occur with Dylan. Moses was adopted by Mia in 1990 and she petitioned to have Woody co-adopt Dylan and Moses in 1992, just before the alleged incident was said to happen. The allegations came out After the Soon-Yi affair was revealed.

A few things. 1. Soon-Yi was never Allen’s adopted daughter. She was André Previn’s adopted daughter and she still saw her father on a regular basis. Allen and Soon-Yi met when she was around 12. 2. Allen did not live in the same household as Farrow or any of her children. 3. Their relationship did not begin until Soon-Yi was in her early 20s. According to Farrow herself, Allen started taking Soon-Yi to basketball games when she was 17 at the suggestion of Farrow.

It is weird, but from what I've read she hated Mia and spent a lot of time with her father (Andre) because he enrolled her in all sorts of classes, and she wasn't around the family as much as everyone else. People forget that Mia was 17 when she had an affair with 50 yo Frank Sinatra, and 22 when she broke up Andre's marriage (he was 40 something). The way I see it (and as explained by Tarana Burke, its founder), the #metoo movement is about empowering victims of sexual assault, through empathy and strength in numbers, to not be ashamed and speak out. It says nothing about the importance of believing women, because we also have to recognize the very real (albeit comparatively smaller) history of false allegations. Anyone is capable of making a malicious accusation if they have a motive, so we can’t just blindly believe alleged victims. What we CAN do is offer support and a thorough investigation. There is always a risk, when adopting older children, that they will have problems bonding with their adoptive parents because they have usually been subjected to multiple broken relationships in the past. It takes a great deal of faith to believe that they aren't being subjected to another relationship that will eventually fail. Because of this fear, they will actively work to have the relationship fail as part of a self-fulfilling prophesy. Allen took advantage of this with Soon-Yi. He groomed her, from the time she was a just a little girl, to be his eventual sexual partner. I have no idea how he is still running around free. As an adopted person myself, there are a lot of issues that many adopted people esp those of a different race than their family have to deal with. It can make "adoptees" particularly vulnerable to being manipluated by others who have ill intentions, because some adoptees end up with attachment disorders or other issues that people who grow up in more ordinary situations don't have to deal with. No matter how I look at this story, the whole thing gives me the creeps and just seems like Allen was preying on her psychological weaknesses in order to have his way with her. I have never seen a Woody Allen movie and never intend to. Everything related to him makes me sick.

I could only get through about a minute before my stomach turned. I remember this when it happened and it turned my stomach then also. My father molested six of my sisters for years and years. My mother knew it and did nothing, so she was just as culpable. Thank God I had a big mouth and a tendency to just blurt things out when company was at the dinner table and that's probably why he left me alone, thank you, Lord!
