It was a great performance when I attended this Carlyle show a few years ago. When I asked that night about Nick's Tavern in the Greenwich Village both Eddie Davis and Woody Allen both acknowledged Nick's. I asked Eddie who chooses the songs which seem picked add hoc and he said Woodie knows and chooses from the thousands of songs Woodie can play by heart. Beloved traditional jazz banjoist and “Manhattan Minstrel” Eddy Davis died of Covid-19 on April 7th 2020. RIP. I need to listen to this fun music every day.

WHAT?! NO COMMENTS? I went to listen to Mr. Allen at the Carlyle on new year's eve of 2001 and it was great! I even got an autograph on my copy of Stig Byorkman's "Woody Allen on Woody Allen" - Faber and Faber. Still I have to admit that he's a much better writer than a clarinet player(I think he knows that). I'm a big fan of most of his movies.

I got the same book signed by Mr Allen. Just last year, September 2015. A thrilling experience. 60 odd years of comedy history right there. A true genius.
