I have an old but immaculate rare Naulilus DMC2BA in new condition with a large coil on it. It can hit a deep led ww1 bullet head at silly depths that even my new manticore with the large coil on stuggles to get any signal. With x4 9v batteries on it. It is truly an unbelievable old school beast. Mines got the mod straight shaft with the return button on . Now I have an Aka Intronika smart pulse now that discriminates iron at depth again unbelievable depth. You might want to look that up. A nice guy called Stephen in Bulgaria sent me one with 2 coils for 1280€ euro. Works on beach in black sand and it's truly impressive 👌

Thanks for informative video and the others I have just recently discovered. I'll be getting my 4500 modified by you and also refer you to my buddies. We are always seeking more performance from our detectors when in the goldfields.

I am going to look for a old minelab gp detector and then send it to you to mod! :)

Hello Mr Detectormod, I have just discovered your channel and been binge watching ever since…… first up, thank you for your patience in explaining things for those of us who have no clue or experience in the multitude of things associated with detectors. Next, don’t waste your time responding to haters, trolls or devil dodging agitators…..you’re far too busy and have probably forgotten more than these clowns know. You have inspired me to give the world of detecting a crack, I am interested in walking the bush for gold but also want to give the beach both dry and wet detecting a go. With your vast knowledge and expertise is there a detector that you would recommend for a beginner with a view to get into detecting on a serious level? I understand I could go into a shop and get talked into a mega dollar detector by a salesman but I would appreciate your advice if you would be kind enough to help me out. I’m 64 years old with very limited computer/tech expertise so the KISS method certainly applies to me, also if you sell used detectors I will definitely be interested. All the best and thank you, Peter B.

Hi, Minelab have some detectors that can do both the beach, parks and goldfields, I would check out the online detecting forums and see what people like using and see if you can find a secondhand version, even a model older will still 100% fantastic.

@@DetectorMods thank you, I’ll look into it. All the best!

Thats incredible , what will the frequency mod do . Also i have a gp3500 , gpx4000 , gpx4500 and the gpx5000 . Which one would you mod out of all of those , if you had the choice .
@DetectorMods2 ай бұрын
The detector that comes alive the best is the 4500 as that is what I use as my go to detector.
@baits93012 ай бұрын
@@DetectorMods what about the frequency mod , what does that do , or maybe explain it in one of your clip , if you haven't already . Thanks Woody .

I had a GPZ7000 that would not pick up a speck that size at that distance and probably not at all. I was considering buying a new detector but will now keep my eyes out for a GP Extreme, though I suspect their second hand value will go through the roof.
@DetectorMods2 ай бұрын
When you think about it, what do the older detectors lack? Variable gain, and different modes but that can be made much the same with variable frequency plus critical performance component upgrades.
@geoffdrew52072 ай бұрын
@@DetectorMods The prices Minelab charge for their detectors are ridiculous when you look at the minimal improvements over previous models. When I had the 7000 I detected with an old guy that had an unmodified 4000 worth a fraction of the 7000 but the performance difference between the two was negligible.
@roymanewell49582 ай бұрын
what do you recon it would be like in the wet sand
@DetectorMods2 ай бұрын
It depends on the amount of conductive salt and minerals. If no salt it would be like detecting mild ground.

Forgot to add a Canadian company has bought a pulse out that will search for just gold or silver or all metals but exclude iron . I can send you the KZbin link woods but you should able to locate it on here. Let me know if you have trouble finding it and I'll send link. I love pulse detectors so I'm always interested. Especially when I'm in Philippines with my partner in Luzon and the black sand is magnetic and most detectors won't even ground balance they just overload.

They already sent me info wanting to get me to talk about it, but I have not used it.

Hello. Can a GP-3000 be modded to that level? Also, just a confirmation, 0.0025 grams correct?

Yes, any GP series can be fully modified exactly the same and yes the 0.0025 is that tiny pin head gold on the end of the plastic.
