Thanks Woody for this valuable information and tremendous efforts, a dual Gpx coil appears on the table. Please, I am looking for: inductance and resistance of the receiving coil and the type of Litz wire used in this type of coil (DD). Thank you.

Epic as usual Woody.

I think you need to get to work pulling apart the original GPZ coil and see the ferrite cores in it too and how it's done also. Coiltek don't make GPZ coils, only X-coils and NF

Yes, that is happening..

Hi Woody. I wanted to buy a gpx 4500. you said that the first issue is better. Or is the difference small? Can you help me determine which issue by serial number

I have not researched the serial numbers but the older the 4500 the more chances of getting a higher gain model, but I can convert the newer ones to high gain anyway.

this vid and the one before are very interesting in as far as explaining coil working, l have been like 90% for 7000 owners looking for a not smaller but lighter coil. so if you do get into making please do call l will gladly hand over a tidy sum for australian quality cheers

coiltek is better by far minelab windings are very nasty pieces of work now sadly mass production and the bean counter to make more profit
