As someone who's had a panic attack before, that's exactly what it feels like. In my instance, it felt like was about to have a heart attack. I was suddenly apologizing internally for everything I took for granted. I miss shrooms. Got the same effect. I saw things that are really there but that our minds don't want us to see because its simply not useful. For example, tree bark is very beautiful but tree bark is neither food or a threat.
