This actually makes me wonder what the original purpose of Rebellion was supposed to me. Sparda separated his power into three swords, Force Edge (or Sparda), Yamato, and Rebellion. Yamato was of course the key to the demon realm, being so sharp it was able to cut through dimensions separating the human world from the demon world. Which also gave it the added effect of being able separate man from demon as it does with the dimensions. Force Edge from what I understand contained the bulk of Sparda’s power and was his favored weapon. But how does Rebellion fit into this, what was it’s purpose? It wasn’t made for Dante, he only gave the swords later to his children as a keepsake, it was never its purpose to be Dante’s. Perhaps it was originally made to unite demon and man, a sort of safety measure Sparda had planned if he needed to regain his full power at some point. It might explain why it responds to Dante’s blood, it’s trying to fulfill it’s purpose of uniting Sparda’s power, or in this case, bringing out more of Dante’s devil powers.

Even better, After he actually fused V again, he started questioning himself. Even if he and Dante had their position switch would things be different. Dante still believes in hil that's why he went to demon world with him. Im sorry if my words got wring ;~;
@Lu_Angel_Rodriguez4 жыл бұрын
Virgil did have character development and it was perfect, for one V was no saint. He tricked Dante and Nero and fused back with his demon side and as said he shared the same feeling for wanting to be stronger than Dante, V was ig more moral than Urizen, but then again Urizen was what Virgil considered strong in him which had no empathy so the contrast is big. However V still tricked Dante and Nero to become whole again because he had lost himself and knew so. The best part of Virgil Character development wasn't him turning good was him accepting his human side and becoming whole again. Virgil had spent his whole life denying it because it was a source of pain and memory of a time he was helpless. He went as far as to separate himself, which he knew how to do since dmc3 probably but only did it at the end as an act of desperation. At that moment Virgil became divided, what made him whole now was not and that didn't make him stronger but weaker. That's why V told him V had lost him and he had lost V. Accepting his human side, all the pain and suffering it was what Dante had the privilege of doing early on where Virgil had to throw himself into his demon side to survive. When Virgil became whole again, he had accepted his human side. Notice how even though V was basically fading Virgil was on the same level as Dante when fused. The character arc of Virgil in this game was perfectly advanced, he learned to accept his human side. Dante always had accepted it, Dante had spend his whole life drawing from it where Virgil did the opposite. That's why he told urizen, "you still don't get it". Virgil still doesn't care for humans as much as Dante does, his Character development doesn't need to be bad-good its already perfect. In fact all Characters development where perfect - V seemed like he genuinely wanted to stop Urizen out of care for people and remorse like it was his responsibility, but at the end he wanted to become whole again and shared the feeling of wanting to surpass Dante and choose as Virgil would. -Nero had spent his whole life hiding his devil powers and not understanding them until dmc4, and even then he wasn't specielly fond of it. Nero is the most human of all, and he had relied on that the entire time while using a power gifted to him since being born he didn't had to work for. After he lost his arm he became weak, and thirsts for power so he can protect what matters to him. He did that all the way to the end where he embraced his demon side, his power hungry side. "Embrace the darkness that's within me" -Vergil was forced to dive into his demon side to survive early on, and was doing the opposite of Nero. He rejected his humanity to survive as a kid when nobody could protect him "forsaken I am awakened". But later he accepts it, because its part of him and without it he is not himself whole or most powerful -Dante was flat arched mostly , but his development was learning about what rebellion does and understanding its power. This game was ideal in Character development

Sparda could never have foreseen the future. Yamato is probably the most unique sword out of three. So Sparda giving Yamato to Vergil was to prevent him from pursuing more power (I believe something like that was the intention,) but ended up setting him on the darker path, I think he saw Vergil to be too much like him. On the other hand, Sparda giving Rebellion, the least powerful sword, but a key to have all the power his son would need, was an insurance, I guess. Dante wearing red clothes just like Eva was says something about him. Sparda probably knew the twins would go on the different paths because of his demonic heritage.

They're different. It was literally stated that the Yamato separates man from devil.
@Noglaslosttesticle5 жыл бұрын
silver storm V did not use Yamato to merge with urizen. He used his cane. Urizen had Yamato the whole time and was using It in the form of the red crystal protecting him and absorbed the sword into his arm before he went to get the fruit.
@ktp34295 жыл бұрын
Well, for now this is speculation in my opinion. We can state facts and get an idea from that though. Rebellion and Yamato are factually devil arms, so sparda must have created them from either a demon or a demon gate, and as we know from previous DMC the demons bend to the owners will. Yamato is only described to be so powerful it can cut through space and time. It was also believed to have sealed the demon gate from the human world. In my opinion, originally each sword serves the purpose described, in DMC5 I think what we see is both swords adapting to Vergil and Dante's will. Dante has never abandoned his human side and vergil believes his human side is his weakness, so maybe that is the only link to how they transform from absorbing the swords. In DMC4 Nero absorbs the yamato and gains his devil trigger, the act of absorbing the sword and other things through his arm could have been possible because he possesses a demon arm. This may not be possible in a straight forward way for V & D because they're more human than devil. One the thing we all need to bare in mind is that DMC's story has never been perfect and over the years we've seen its creators slowly mold it into what we have now. So we can't say what is definitely happening with these things as they seem to change from each game to the other.

Plot wise... Maybe Rebellion is set upon 2 situational conditions... 1st condition is for 1st stab with Rebellion will awaken the sword thus forcefully awaken Dante's demonic power. The rest stabs with Rebellion means nothing. 2nd conditions. Since the rest of the stab has become nothing and it was done by other people to Dante. The 2nd condition is to Dante himself stab himself with the Rebellion and should any other Devip arms that Dante currently equipped will be absorb to unite and create the Devil arms that only belongs to Dante. And... Plot wise. Since Dante is equipping Sparda at the time. Therefore Sparda was absorbed into Dante... ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️ Well seeing how Dante gains Devil Arms from DMC 1 until now DMC... I kinda wish to know how did Sparda gain Yamato and Rebellion to begin with...

What I don't get is that Vergil only got the majin form through the devil trees fruit then? So he had to kill thousands of people to do it? So Vergil was never supposed to have majin form or be stronger? And Vergil also wasn't supposed to have his own legendary sword?
@acgearsandarms13435 жыл бұрын
Spawn223311 Yes, Vergil’s newfound demonic power came from Urizen eating the fruit. Not thousands, hundreds of thousands. That’s underestimating the casualty count. Had he not awakened his power, no, he would never have unlocked his Sin Devil Trigger form. Just normal DT. Consider what it took to make the Devil Sword Dante. The sword has to be an extension of the will of the one who’s name it bears, like with Devil Sword Sparda. Vergil has no will to the extent of Sparda or Dante, he was power hungry. Never was interested in humanity. He despised it as weakness. Luckily though, through V, he gained a better perspective of humanity and hopefully he will not try to threaten the human world again.

@edrickt59074 жыл бұрын
Sooo... why did your father give you the rebellion again?? The best i can come up with is the fact that he gave vergil the yamato, literally the only thing that separates both human and demon worlds from colliding with each other, he wanted to hand down that responsibility to vergil because he thought vergil is wise enough to wield such power and since Dante also needs a sword, sparda was like yeah you know what, imma hand this rebellion to you so that you won't fall behind. Or second reason is because Dante plays around too much and he wouldn't unlock his demon power unless it was given to him, so here's rebellion, you could absorb it later on and unlock your devil form kay

@@hidan407 What people don't understand is rebellion and yamato are polar opposite swords. Yamato can split and seal things. Rebellion can merge and unlock things.
