This confirms that Journey to the West has great fame and popularity And with respect to Sun Wukong would be the equivalent of Don Quijote, who is also very famous here in literature (I'm just trying to recover my lost habit of reading books), I remember when in high school they made us read the book "Don Quijote of La Mancha" and while for many it was boring to read books, I must admit it was interesting and somewhat funny adventures of Don Quijote and Sancho Panza But back to the subject, it is interesting and even exciting how each continent and country has its own famous literary and/or mythological figure And from what I see, the Monkey King is not only limited in his country of origin, his fame reaches all the countries that are part of Asia in general, in some much more popular than in others 😌

PLEASE I need to know the name of one Journey to The West movie. It has fairly new effects, maybe around 2010s. I absolutely LOVE one of the scenes when the group arrives at nirvana and when they look back, they see themselves walking away in suffering. As they walk away Wukong said "They are our sins", implying that they are now sinless, as pure as a baby. It has aliens or something, I don't quite remember the details. One I remember though is the ending. The Monk's girl turned/reincarnated into a horse as they start over the journey before he met Wukong.

I cant remember the name of the animated one I'm looking for. I can only remember a scene where the monk and the monkey king encounter a girl the monkey king begins the to fight her against the monks wishes so he stops him with the magic ring. They start talking for a bit and the girl reveals she is dragon but unable to access her full power with out an artifact that she needs. They are attacked by a bad guy that turns into a monster eel. The girl turns into her dragon form but is no match for the monster eel who for some reason is trying swallow her whole. So the monkey get the artifact and she is finally able to defeat the eel monster and at the end turns into a horse and travels with them. If anyone is familiar with it id appreciate know the name.

@@romanniki5033 你说的尊重原著只是造型上吧。唐僧看三字经算尊重原著？？还有舒淇的角色原著里出现过？？？其实仔细看86版的悟空的确是4人当中最矮的，主要是六小龄童老师一直处于半蹲状态，剧情都基本按原著来演。原著里称为美猴精，电视剧里称为美猴王等等，戏曲上的艺术表现方式，只要不偏离整个剧情我觉得没有任何问题。

For me the 1978 Japanese series Monkey was what I first watched. It's a bit old but I still love it. The 1986 Journey to the West is for many Chinese a classic. I run through the different types of series on my other video. Enjoy :)

@@WooKong I see... Have you watched the 2002 2003ish series? I think its two seasons(the one that changed wukong actor in the middle of the season)... You see, in Indonesia that series IS what people think when they say JTTW and wukong here, its impact is beyond words, that show basically makes evryone and their grandma know who goddess kuan im is... Aaaaand i didnt watched it.. just episodes here and there, and i regret it. If so then many of other too, many if not most of the adaptation are not lore accurate, even as far as retelling, reimagining, etc. Those mecha for example, it's the most deviating wukong so rly this is just a list of wukong adaptation into what ever story it became, not necessarily lore accurate (heck only few is), and early dragon ball are also just another wukong adaptation, until they remove the tail, staff, cloud mount, monkey transformation, etc
