Hi Shari: I'd think it would work, but you should probably start small and test it.

I was given a precious baby onesie when my son was born that had a petite applique and it came from Neiman Marcus, so I gathered it might be a wool applique- is this a good guess ? And can you do this one a knit onesie? I first thought it could've been a felt but I've since learned felts don't hold up- I'm expecting my first grandbaby boy this September so I've been looking all over on what I can do!

I don't think I'd appliqué wool on a baby's onesie. It might not wash well. Cotton is a better bet.

It might have been polyester felt! Like you'd find at hobby lobby or michael's. That would probably be OK for a baby onesie!

Becky Goldsmith thank you! I have several of those but a quilter told me not to use them! it's worth a shot if you think it would work- I sound obsessed but this was the tiniest yet most precious onesie set I was given! I'm still curious about wool appliques! ;)
