Not only was he a good animator, he was also a good director and producer as well.

Apparently, Wolfgang Reitherman has fun at animating male characters with eyelashes. He not only animated the Reluctant Dragon, but also animated Boris from Lady and the Tramp

He also directed films like Sword in the Stone, 101 Dalmatians, and Jungle Book, but this is the Woolie I like the most.
@kylebastian98093 жыл бұрын
The films he directed/produced: Sleeping Beauty (directed two sequences), 101 Dalmatians (taking the place of the retired Wilfed Jackson), The Sword in the Stone (featuring his sons Richard and Robert), Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (featuring his son Bruce), The Jungle Book (featuring Bruce), Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, The Aristocats (co-produced with Winston Hibler), Robin Hood (producer and director), Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too (directed by John Lounsbery), The Rescuers (co-directed with John Lounsbery), and The Fox and the Hound (as producer only).

He directed the jungle book, which featured his youngest son Bruce.

Bruce was also the first Christopher Robin in Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree (1965), directed by Reitherman himself.

It blows my mind how someone can make not just one character move on screen but multiple characters the way this dude did. I absolutely love the animation in the sword in the stone and Robin hood. Also the goofy one at end was hilarious

Did he animate the "Pink Elephants on Parade" sequence, or some of it. I'd suspect such, as the "Heffalumps and Woozles" sequence of "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day" (directed by him) reminds me of it.
@MrJohnffrey878 жыл бұрын
Pink Elephants on Parade was animated by Howard Swift and Hicks Lokey, as for Heffalumps and Woozles, I can't find a draft but Reitherman did direct the sequence and I heard somewhere that John Lounsbery animated at least some of it.

Some of the best hand-drawn animation of all time, and we owe it to the Reitherman. Few things come close to the Monstro sequences, nevermind some of the other scenes featured in the video...

Who animated the stag fight in Bambi?
@MrJohnffrey877 жыл бұрын
I'd say it was him or Bill Roberts, but I don't know for sure since the draft is currently unavailable at this time.

MrJohnffrey87 Actually he's not credited in that film at all. He was most likely on either Dumbo or Saludos Amigos at the time.

According to Hans Perk, all scenes of Bambi and Ronno fighting is by Jack Bradbury, and three scenes (2 of Faline and 1 of Bambi) by Preston Blair.
