Actually, generally speaking, German's speak very gently. The reason we associate the language with aggressive delivery is because well, the most famous German made speeches that way and most shooters are set in WW2 where they are currently in the middle of a battlefield.
@Coconut-2192 жыл бұрын
Other than at the World Economic Forum - I can say that MOST Germans do not talk like that in current day.
@ObsidianDragon70302 жыл бұрын
It's also the age old problem of people associating The german language as a whole with Southern German. A Good friend of mine showed me the difference and North German is WAY more gentler sounding.
@cordia962 жыл бұрын
It's also the use of language in a military/industrial context. Corpo-speech sounds cold.
@Densoro2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I had a big German music phase in high school, and Silbermond and Marta Jandová really highlighted how graceful the language can be. People just think German sounds aggressive because they hear it in contexts that _are aggressive._

@@PoisonInc I mean, there's more than a neat clue. Like, for one, it doesn't say 'continue' like it normally does, it says 'Begin'. And that's not even covering the background. Similar to Nier: Automata, the game putting a warning like 'Hey the first credits roll isn't the end of the game' just feels like not trusting the audience enough to play the game.

21:00 It only sounds aggressive when english speakers try to do it. Most of you guys sounds like you're trying to imitate literal Hitler. For some reason you guys always want to pronounce things way too hard. Idk if it's because most of the german you hear is from nazi movies or because german is just slightly more clearly/sharper spoken than english which is a bit more blurry/slurry and you overshoot alot but somehow that is a super common pattern, even in acadmic circles. So my first advice for speaking german more correclty as an english speaker would be to speak it softer than what you want to default to.

Still not as cheap as it was, but its getting better. Hopefully 2024 won't screw this up again. That and the Supreme Court has been kicking in a lot of teeth lately.
