Admittedly, feel like the title set me up for more than the movie was able to deliver. Like I was expecting a tour of a bunch of different cool universes (more than just a quick montage), and not like 3 of them (with a large chunk of time spent in a world whose main divergence is that traffic lights are different and Bruce Campbell sells pizza balls).
@ShutterSnapped

Yeah the movie really shines when Raimi goes Raimi. In that sense it was cool seeing his horror-style blend with, for me personally, an increasingly stagnating superhero factory film production. It's that type of uniqueness and creativity that these movies need and unfortunately is the golden foil on top of the same old formula of Marvel movies underneath. For a movie called Multiverse of Madness there was very little madness and very little use of the multiverse and even less than what you would think with those two being in the same subtitle together.

@@ShutterSnapped If I’d had been dozens of different universes, I bet people would just called it a mess. Best case scenario is a Everything, Everwhere All At Once type film where it’s only five or so different universes and we see brief flashes to hundreds of different universes. My problem with the film is that it should really focused on the character stuff between Strange and Wanda instead going from set piece to set piece. Other than that I liked it.

I saw someone say they should've just had a montage scene of them hopping around universes for a bit. Story-wise, it's probably for the best they didn't do too much jumping around, but I agree it was odd that it didn't really go harder on that idea considering it's part of the draw.

As soon as Strange said “what about the other you” it’s pretty clear she either dies or changes her ways, but then what’s the point of all the murder? And same with strange, we’ve seen this already with him giving up the stone, trusting other people to do it. Felt like a rehash

I totally accepted evil Wanda and her murdering because everything since Ultron has forgiven her for pulling massive amounts of evil shit. This movie finally addresses and punishes Wanda for her actions, while still keeping her sympathetic. It’s not like the comics where she has legit excuses for her mistakes even in House of M, she did pretty much everything of her own accord in the MCU. She’s the most interesting aspect of the movie. Like Strange she’s been dealt a shit card in life but unlike Strange who’s resigned to it Wanda thinks it’s unfair and tries change the universes to fit her needs. Really it think should be just about her and Strange and to be fair it is for the most part.

They’re both people who experienced horrific trauma as children which turned them introverted and prickly as adults, they’ve both had chances to move on their pain which Strange has managed to do whilst Wanda hasn’t. Like the initial trailer had a Shuma Gorath looking creature (that would have been excellent main villain to go with Mordo) but NOPE, need the walking talking equivalent to the crazy cat lady but with powers that can do whatever the writer needs to do for the story (which unfortunately is also how she is in the comics and shows that feature her. shes not a very well written character). But needing every piece of Disney media to be the jumping off point to other pieces of Disney media in a cinematic universe that no one writing or directing it cares to make work is just sad. I left after Endgame and felt vindicated after the ending of No Way Home when it cemented Peter Parker as a shit human being for ignoring the very moral it was trying to teach him. But hey! whatcha gonna do when the comic the movie is based on (Brand New Day) is one of THE WORST SPIDERMAN COMICS this side of Clone Saga and made by an also shit human who ALSO cant write for shit (Joe Quesadilla).

This movie really felt, more than any other, like an MCU product. When you watch Winter Soldier, it's connected to the MCU but it still stands on its own as an effective movie, it is a movie with some connections to others. This one really felt like it was connections first, movie second. It was made to hype up future stuff, continue past stuff, but as a two hour story to enjoy, it just felt kinda pointless for me. The iluminati are worse than minority report, because they killed their doctor strange because he was a "potential threat" and are also thinking of killing this new, completly innocent strange because he """""might""""" make a bad decision When evil dr strange asks our dr strange "prove that you are me from another universe" he talks about his dead sister even thou she might not even exist in this universe/she could have died another way/she could have lived the accident AND THIS FUCKING WORKS. @li-limandragon9287
@li-limandragon9287 2 жыл бұрын
@@skatmancarlos I’ll answer all of them. Wanda has been unhinged since Age of Ultron and only got worse after reading the Darkhold, what she thinks reasonable obviously isn’t reasonable at all by other people’s standards. She’s being “reasonable” in the sense she made of a point of not charging in herself like a reality warping force of nature. Mage Lady stabbing the book was putting the safety of the goddamn universe about Wong’s life which was a sound choice and the Darkhold needed to be destroyed. Why risk getting herself killed by attacking Wanda (who was pretty much invincible and only died when she wanted to) or freeing Wong wasting time that could’ve been spent destroying the book. You haven’t read the comics, The Marvel Illuminati historically suck balls and are ruthless assholes, multiply every bad choice Tony made in the MCU x10 and that’s how bad the Illuminati are. Them unfairly Minority Reporting shit is totally on point. In the comics they shoot Hulk into space, brainwashed Captain America and destroyed other universes all for the sake of the “greater good”. There was always a massive chance Strange had a younger sister given they explicitly said Christine exists in every universe. No reason why Wanda should have kids in the Illuminati universe but it still was the case. It’s “narrative convenience” and for the sake of learning about Strange’s sister and it was worth it. Now, there’s stuff in this movie I won’t defend or justify. Like America Chavez being a walking Maguffin who wasn’t developed at all, the third eye stinger getting immediately downplayed by the next end credits scene and the general pacing, but otherwise I really liked it. The problems you had with it, weren’t problems at all imo.

@@li-limandragon9287 so, no I haven't read the comics but im glad we agree the iluminati suck. I understand that wanda is crazy. I guess i would say that i dont like that her actions make no sense on any level and her motivation is that she wants her kids, that never existed in the first place and also she is going to get rid of herself of another timeline for those kids that shouldnt exist anyway. Also what is this crap that a person exists in every universe that is just not true and the movie proves this because wandas children NEVER EXISTED in 616. Also if there are infinite multiverses there has to be one where strange saved her sister or she didnt die or she wasnt born or it was his brother instead, that scene doesn't work. Also since when is wanda invincible? Up to this movie i though she just had her magic but now she is indestructible? What? She should be able to die by a knife to the throat, but i guess this movie gave her super soldier serum or whatever. I also want to say that i have nothing against you, and this is just friendly banter, i dont want people to think this is a heated discussion or anything.
@li-limandragon9287
@li-limandragon9287 2 жыл бұрын
@@skatmancarlos Her children might not of existed in a technical sense but they were still hers and real enough to her and real enough for Monica to protect. Wanda is a tragic villain, her reasoning is absolutely flawed which natural for someone with a life as screwed up life as Wanda. Wanda not having actual kids in the MCU is just another case of her life being hell, had she not lost everything she in all likelihood could had Tommy and Billy naturally in the MCU like she did in the other universe. A super soldier serum doesn’t make you stab proof, only Hulk’s version made him nigh-invulnerable. Wanda however was the most powerful being in existence and survived getting slashed up by the mirror dimension. One knife from a mage wasn’t stooping her. I think you should really just read the comics, not waste time complaining to me what didn’t make sense to you.

But apparently being forced to stay put in a comfortable house is too much and she breaks our hurting Vision (the person who loves her and will stick up for her no matter what) in the process and outright says to him she doesn’t care what public thinks of her.
