After my first row of the star stitch the way it appears it wouldn't even fit a preamie 🤷‍♀️ I'm using cotton cakes size 5 hook. I'll keep going. Lol I do love how you do your tutorials!! Ok when I slip stitch after the first row of star stiches there is a hole big enough for my finger! Ugh This just isn't working for me. Beautiful stitch. Thanks for teaching it to me. ☮️🕉️

I also had the same question. When I looked in the description box I saw that she mentioned a "worsted weight yarn" in this pattern, yet the title says "chunky" yarn. The yarn looks to be a 4 weight. If you choose a 3 weight or DK, you need to make allowances for the smaller stitch so your beanie will be to size. Measure the crown before you begin the star stitch row (use a measurement hat chart).

Sarah-Jayne does mention that it may not be suitable for premie babies but maybe just don't use safety eyes - she explains all this in the video. Hope that helps!
