This song was written for Morissette, and it is seldom covered by other artists, because those singers can not complete the note prior, during, and after the whistle note that you heard. ( its a modulating b4 ascending towards an a6 whistle note with movement , done in 13 seconds ) Also, the belting note she held for another 14 seconds was a b5 with movement as well. You mentioned Idina Menzel, well Morissette can also sing Broadway musical songs besides Never Enough. She did a compilation of 5 or so during the pandemic at a casual setting about 4 years ago. I recommend that you react to her performing Defying Gravity ( Wicked ) ( skip the intro ) Once you hear her version, you'll forget about Idina for good, I guarantee it.
