Its an interesting idea. I wonder if the oven would work better if it was insulated on the outside. Maybe in the wind it is hard to keep hot. John

I think it’s more to do with the quality of the fuel you use and soot build up. We’re experimenting

Bought one recently with all the accessories from get go. They look good but don't work very well, especially for the money. They do not draw very well out of the flue and so much moisture/creosote runs back down the pipe and through the joins. Exhaust internals of oven will eventually clog up with the crap running back down the flue. Oven is very hard to get to and maintain above 100c I'm going to modify mine and extend the back of the firebox above the existing flue connection level with top of firebox and fit the flue upright at the highest possible point. The existing flue connection is too low and leaks. The diameter of the pipe could be the next size up as well. The first flue connection piece to the stove could also be shorter (dropping the oven lower) so it gets more radiant heat from the firebox. The first flue connection could also be wrapped in heat proof material like they use on exhaust headers etc. This will also improve heat transfer to the oven.

@@liamwaters5451 I've tried many types of wood. I live in the country. Have you got the oven?

@@erroneouscode sure do I been using Jarrah gets to 160 no worries if it starts getting high I shut the door and close the vents
@erroneouscode4 жыл бұрын
@@liamwaters5451Let me guess you're in WA? Jarrah is not readily available here except as store bought decking etc. I have improved it by extending the back of the firebox where the original flue connected and now the flue doesn't have a bend in it. I'm trying to get the thing to work well (including the oven) in the coldest of weathers (Vic high country). I may even wrap the oven yet. I want it to work well closed as eventually I want to use it inside a canvas annex.

G'day :) I checked out all of the Wooshka vids you have uploaded a few months back. Great work, they're awesome.I think I'm sold on the main unit and the water boiler for sure. Now that it's getting closer to camping season, I think we'll have to save up and get one. The oven looked like it wasn't coming up to temp (180-190) too well. Now that you've had it for a while, are you still happy with it?
@SilhouetteParkFarm5 жыл бұрын
I’ve found the flu oven is very hard to keep at temperature, I’ve been experimenting with different fuel/ woods and a few other techniques and will have a update coming soon.

Whats a roast pork like in that oven . Any crackle
@SilhouetteParkFarm4 жыл бұрын
Never tried, I use the spit or a camp oven for roast pork, nothing really beats a pork roast on the spit.

Great video. Sorry, but I've looked at every bit of marketing for these and all of them have the glass the right way around in the oven. I love your joke about it tho. :)

bearpark they’ve changed a fair bit of their advertising now from backlash. lol. Originally on the wooshka website WOOSHKA was spelt as a mirror image. Not sure if it was mistake (more than likely) or clever marketing (for people like me). The main point is that it works as well as the whole setup. I personally think it’s a major screw up but will give them the benefit of the doubt lol.

@@SilhouetteParkFarm Well there you go! I love it. It's a good laugh. I'll be buying one of these tomorrow. I appreciate the vids.

bearpark if you get one I’m thinking about doing another video about the types of fire that is best suited to the oven. So far I’ve found that a charcoal fire isn’t as effective as a good hardwood. But charcoal works great for grilling and stovetop cooking. It’s all a bit of fun working it all out and a great talking point while tripping about. Please subscribe to stay posted

the only comment i have is its a tad small, it should have been square to match the stove and also provide a lot more space, but 10/10 for design and functionality so far.

Dave David yep not for big meals but great cooking bread rolls in the oven to have with a stew cooked on the wok burner. I think the round design is for smoke and heat flow. But that’s just my thought.

i love the product and im going to get one this weekend, the only thing is i might hold off on the oven just for the mean time as i feel its a bit small, but your cookies did look great i must admit, Also your glass is actually the wrong way around as i looked at one last weekend. Also keep up the reviews as they are great :)
