The older I get the more I look back on the years I wasted looking for something better because right now isn't "enough". I've come to a quiet understanding that right now is the most precious moment of my life. This song just reminded me of that...also what kind of footprint am I leaving behind? What is the part of me that will be remembered? Was it filled with darkness? Or light? To me light means giving freely of myself to help others around me who are suffering. I also loved how this song started off a bit melancholy, like my life when it's not "enough" but then built up to a more lively beat which made me feel alive and excited for this moment. The night my mother passed, I drove 2.5 hours to see her one last time. We had already had a beautiful goodbye when she was conscious days before, but I wanted to tell her it was okay to go, that we'd be alright. On my way back home, knowing I would get that call in a matter of hours, I listened to 4444 over and over, repeating this song several times. It was velvet black, 8:00 pm, and I was driving through the mountains of Vermont where there is no light pollution. Above and beside me the whole way was the most incredible full moon. Love this very emotionally raw music video, the dancers personified (for me) what a person goes through when overwhelmed by a love that did not work out. Love the woman's face and her expressions.
