Other, bigger companies simply don't care and can get away with shipping defective products (well before GN gets notified that is). Smaller companies like wooting frankly NEEDS to be honest and open to their community because without it they don't have much foothold and they know it

I honestly was a little disappointed when I saw the delay on the wooting website earlier, thinking "damn, delayed? again?" But I had totally missed the previous update. This video really helped clear it up, I'm even more excited to receive the keyboard now in fact! Genuine appreciation for explaining the issue in such depth. As an engineering student, I can totally understand how little mistakes can go unnoticed but have such huge detrimental effects, many props for going so far as to halt production to ensure that the issue doesn't get pushed to shipped units. And in equal parts do I appreciate the communications so far, so many times we'll just hear that launches get delayed without hearing any reason, THIS IS THE WAY! Thank you so much for making me understand why my patience is so valuable! I can't wait to receive my keyboard, though I will certainly forget that the keyboard I'm using hasn't experienced any significant issues, I'll say it now, thank you for taking such great care for even 0.5%!

Best tech company at the very least. Especially if you look at the brands that have top of the line products like wooting they are by far the most consumer friendly. One of the initial biggest indicators of that for me was that u could use a web browser for customising your keyboard instead of having to download their software.

Electrostatic discharge is not even at fault here. Voltage Is a relative thing, so without the same ground on both ends voltage can be literally anything and if unlucky there is a good chance to fry electronics. This is why USB made this way(ground all the time connects first), so it's suitable for hotplug. This just a violation of basic rules.

i'm really happy with the approach you bring to logic hardware and software, but i want an ortholinear layout, and i want it to have the top of the line configuration and management you provide, and i'm willing to do it myself if i can use your electronics on my own PCB. if this is possible, i'd love to hear it, otherwise i hope you don't feel too bad about me ripping apart a full size board of yours and jerry rigging the electronics. might get interesting if theres fancy analog calibration i'd need to learn.
