I fondly remember if I was lucky could catch channels 5,9 and 11 on an old b&w television in my room. Those were the best days in my youth.

This was back when WOR-TV movie intros are all done in CGI. These lasted until around 1987 or so, except the “Million Dollar Movie” where it used the different opening with shots from New York City at night and historic landmarks.

Can't thank you enough for posting this, Ron; I have these spread out over a zillion vhs tapes I made back then. They were so nicely conceived, presenting us with a bit of high tec for the time, yet they were inherently nostalgic in feel.

I do too.I remember when the 4 O'clock movie,9 in the afternoon,Million Dollar Movie,Fright Night and 9 All Night scenes were live it was cool, but when they were still on commercial breaks,it was great too,I believe it was special effects.

I once heard a rumor that the Black Building with the Yellow Stripe on it (0:04, 1:20, 2:00) was supposed to be a mock-up of Channel 9's broadcasting building once they moved to Secaucus, NJ, but nothing was ever 100% confirmed about that. If it is, though, that's quite the easter egg

When will you upload the classic (and rare) WOR-TV "4:30 Movie" intro? One of the greatest intros of the eighties, from '84...I enjoyed it from Western PA was channel 9 was available on cable...how about it?

@@ericsamuelson5656Our Channel 7 (WNAC-TV) in Boston had been an ABC affiliate until 1972. Then our CBS affiliate WHDH-TV Channel 5 lost its television license and became WCVB-TV and our new ABC affiliate. WNAC Channel 7, in turn, became Boston's CBS affiliate. It was terribly confusing and somehow distressing to see shows that we were used to seeing on one channel suddenly broadcast on another channel where they didn't belong, if you know what I mean.

It was great when the voice said,IN A FEW MOMENTS,Juliet Mills returns in "Beyond the Door".Sounds like something out of "Let's Make A Deal".Wasn't Juliet Mills the one who played twin girls in "The Parent Trap?"

@@seanmontgomery801 Yes, she was. Technically, the early episodes of Saved By the Bell were a different T.V. series entitled Good Morning, Miss Bliss that featured 4 actors who stayed on board for the latter retooled series.
