I was looking to learn how to standardize the shapes when you add below a box so they were not placed on top of each other. Finally figured out you have to click the lines between the boxes and standardize them, and not the shapes themselves. I think many people would find this useful to include.

I haven't gotten this far yet (if I ever will) in my MS Word class I need to make one for an assignment in my Business Technology and Communication class. So helpful and funny. Hi Kirk, Question!!thank you for so much for your video. I just want to ask, how do you add another box just below the President Box? Another box below it but not like the assistant boxes on the sides. Literally on the same one line in the middle below the president box. Please and thank you

Yes, you just have to select the shape and: Design>Create Graphic & click Add Shape>Before or After, and you'll have it at the same level.

I have another question. I do understand the idea of the whole org chart, but my problem is the moment i add other shapes it suddenly becomes smaller and smaller and I am not sure how to avoid it, or how to move them in a drop down hierachrchy rather then a everybody next to each other one.

The canvas that contains the shapes can be resized to a larger area to accommodate the added shapes, otherwise it automatically shrinks them to fit them in. Albeit, there’s only so much space in your document to accommodate a larger canvas; however, you can add additional SmartArt graphics and arrange them close to one another to appear as one with the help of the Wrap Text feature, see kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJOaeGdsfcyonNE. For the Org chart you can select a shape and from the Design Tab>Create Graphic, click Layout arrow>Left or Right Hanging. I hope this helps. One way is to right-click on the border of a shape>Format Shape, and then in the Format Picture Task Pane, under Shape Options, click on the paint bucket (Fill) and expand the Fill to show "Picture or texture fill". Select the "Picture or texture fill" and then click on the File button and browse your computer to find and select your picture.
