Few people know that Russell Brand is a legitimate wordsmith. He's got an honorary degree from a prestigious college because of his phenomenal way with the English language. Playing word sneak with Russell Brand is like playing hide the penny with David Blaine- chances are you're just not qualified. Either Jimmy didn't know who he was dealing with, or he's a smart enough host to know that Russell would spank this game and show people his amazing talent. Russell is one of the best writers of the day and far more intelligent that most people know or give him credit for. I love you Russ!

***** if the point is to NOT sneak words into a converstion...if the point is to make it obvious what the word on your card is so that Jimmy can have a good fake laugh about it, then those should be the stated rules. Im going to guess its part something your born with, but also confidence goes a long way, as well as intelligence, being extraverted (where you think as you speak, as opposed to introverted where you think THEN speak), and just sheer talent. I read everyday, I meditate everyday, I used to do drugs everyday (just going by the examples people posted in reply to the question) but Im super shy, not confident with my speaking (in front of strangers). when I am with close friends (which are very few) and family, and on a topic I feel knowledgeable in and confident in what I know, I am able to speak like him. when it's a topic i'm interested in I can go on and on, never missing a beat or fumbling a word, and wear people out. but to be in front of a large crowd and still be like that, that's talent.

Guys, Jimmy isn't playing this game to win, he's playing it for fun.... his laughter isn't fake. Go back as far as you can in his history. He laughs at EVERYTHING. Russell is fantastic though wow.

It isn't a competitive game, so it isn't possible for someone to 'win' it. It's just an improve game they're playing _together_. There's no goal other than to say their word.

How can Russell have such a humbling, beautifully poetic and tremendous vocabulary, but still have personality traits and intellectual maturity of a teenager.

Because he's free to be as he wishes to be, he's not constrained by the judgment of people such as yourself who are so detached from their own spirit that they can't see the expression of it in others. His 'intellectual maturity' and 'personality traits' on the surface seem immature but underlying that is profound wisdom and freedom to express himself as he wishes. He's recovered the spirit of the child, the genius, that most of us lose in this culture.

This has been one my favorite games of Word Sneak. I like that Russell Brand was actually using a lot of words (some very silly) to disguise his actual word. I think the point of the game can get lost with the audience reaction. It makes it more fun (to me at least) if you can actually sneak the dang word in the conversation. This by far has been one of the better, if not best, examples!

He wasn't supposed to try to guess, though. That's not the game, which Jimmy kept trying to explain to him but Russell didn't seem to understand no matter how many times he was reminded.
@smithsoniansamurai70438 жыл бұрын
+junbh2 But the game is pointless without the guessing. It's just really stilted improv. Anybody can just talk a load of bullshit and insert in random words. The point should be that you have to do it in a way that seems casual. The motivation to keep it casual is that you have to be sneaky and make the word seem naturally a part of your story or else your opponent will guess your word.

+Genesis Obadiah Yes I agree. This is perhaps the only time I have seen Jimmy look annoyed. Silly of Jimmy though because Russell makes the clip here.
@jttheredwolf82999 жыл бұрын
+Genesis Obadiah this is agreed, i feel as if jimmy didnt want to interview him. Russell Brand for me, he is not annoying. When I watch him crack jokes or talk political. I get a sense of "Hey this guy is sort of like me" and this is probably the same with everybody else. You feel as if he has a part of your personality. Reading this may sound crazy but i hope whovever gets it and understands it. A pat on the back for you.
@kawtar69469 жыл бұрын
+JT The Red Wolf I totally understand this! this is how i feel everytime i see him. He is very misunderstood tbh
@jttheredwolf82999 жыл бұрын
+Kawtar Ab thank you for your comment. :D yes I do agree he is somewhat misunderstood, but to us that actually understand him he is not misunderstood. Like when he was being interviewed as such a achor with blonde hair and a blue dress couldn't actually relax when around him, this sent her to be teased at. And its irritating to watch others react to him as irritating, hes not. He's just like everybody else and people just can't seem to handle his wildness. It sort of pisses me off, like these are some of my biggest P's. It is the sort of the same feel how Robin Williams cracked jokes and sort of went wild, everyone was trying to shut him up a bit, which is reasonable he did seem to go a bit too far. Now Im not comparing, well I am a bit, but im not entirely comparing Robin to Russell to see who is the wildest. Im not. Im simply just saying... typing, that wild people, gay people, trans or whatever you identify with, we are the same. And I wish people would stop the bloody "Oh you're not the same as us you cannot be here" posh bullshit. Enough said.
@nextari9 жыл бұрын
+Genesis Obadiah - Russell flies circles around Jimmy's simplistic mentality. Jimmy has an original zany side, but seems like he'd be content to just giggle for an hour, without any substance. Russell is genuinely aware of what is going on in a much more liberated (free) way. Jimmy's "irritation" is a spontaneous defense mechanism for being outwitted, like "oh come on you're making it difficult for me.."

Word Sneak is like the perfect game for Russell Brand. He is so impulsive, has no filter, no inhibition, just says whatever is on his mind, speaks without overthinking, is very quick, is very good with language, is articulate and well-spoken.
