I watch alot of Catholic videos, because I am halfway through converting from atheism. I love watching Bishop Barron and Ascension Presents in particular, and I just want to say that I think this video cuts deep into the essence of what the current issues of faith are here in New Zealand. I have a triple major in science (Chemistry, Geology, and Geography), so can speak first hand on how the study of God's creations are being mis-used in order to support "Ego-Dramatic" individual constructs and social constructs of scientistic ideologies. God bless you Bishop Barron.. Keep up the good work. I am a solo Father trying desperately to guide my son to Jesus, through the teachings of the Catholic church. If it wasn't for your efforts (and the efforts of others, such as the rest of the team at "Word On Fire") then I don't think I would get very far. May God bless you and the team at "Word on fire" and may the Holy Spirit help guide and empower your surmons.

The time has come for all of us Catholics who complain about not being able to attend a Latin Mass, to cease and desist with the constant bitching and complaining about Pope Francis... be grateful to God and thank Him for what we do have. Many parishes have a shortage of priests and some have none....and would be grateful to even have a church nearby in which to attend mass or even a communion service, or Eucharistic adoration. Time to grow up guys. Merry Christmas....

Your discussion of "We are in the same story" gave me chills. Thought of the scene in Two Towers where Sam and Frodo are discussing the story of the Silmarils, and realize they are carrying the light of one in the Phial of Galadriel. "Why sir, we are in the same story still!" I love when the emotions I feel for great stories enrich what I feel when encountering great Theology.

I have often contemplated the birth of John, at which, it seems Mary would have been acting as, or assisting the midwife. She held the infant John in her arms, with Christ growing in her womb. The New Eve, the Last Prophet and the Messiah, all wrapped together in one tender, loving embrace. It is a riveting image.

I love the idea that We (The Church) are moving together. Even when we don't know we're moving together according to Gods Plan. Thing is We only see our little part, whereas God see's the whole thing and how all the parts fit in. God has a plan...And I Trust Him.

Also the non-Church. Everything moves according to its way, and every way moves according to Logos (that is, Christ). Even Jesus required Judas to betray him for his mission to be fulfilled. The difference between one and another is the awareness of the game being played.

Seriously the temptation or orientation is to see God’s will as an extension of my own life, but that puts me at the center and God as my co-pilot. But to be reminded that I am a player in His story (History?) gives me a lot to think about. Blessed Advent to all 🕯🕯🕯🕯❤️🙂🩰

What a wonderful homily. I've been finding so much correlation recently between different Catholics in my life, Catholics I follow online, and the like. Sometimes things can be difficult, but to fully love people is not to just accept whatever they say "works" for them. It's not. Loving someone is not just living in contentment. Loving someone is leading one another to Christ. When I encounter people, some friends, some not, who are not Christians but say they're happy that the faith "works for me" I actually get really sad because Jesus isn't just for some of us, He is for everyone and He wants to welcome them home. It was a really difficult realization at first because the more open I have been to Christ, the more troubles I have realized among friends, family, and myself. The struggle was and continues to be worth it though because being openly excited and vocal about being Catholic bears SO much fruit, even when we might never see it. Being a witness to Christ is a gift-use it! Keep praying for one another! Thank you, Bishop Barron!

Bishop Barron, you are one of God's stars, which was evident when you presented the Catholicism series. Profound subjects discussed in a comprehensive, non-judgmental style by an intellectual takes rare talent. However, complementary remarks are combined with a special request. I need many prayers at this time of my life, and would appreciate your adding me to your list. Briefly, I'm in my last chapter of life, which I love deeply, but the past year has been devastating. Last year I was scheduled for abdominal surgery, which stretched into 3 procedures in 8 months. During recovery, my daughter died suddenly while waiting for a surgery date. The combined stressful events caused (guess!), shingles, my 6th lifetime episode, the culprit, a compromised immune system. I would be most grateful if you could include my name and my daughter's (Alicia) in a prayer list. Addendum: My daughter's death follows the death of my eldest son within 5 years, colon cancer, 2 out of 3 children. My youngest is my human guardian angel, a difficult task. Sorry for the prolonged comments, and dearest thanks for your prayer♡

Later I was swayed the world and got caught up in the ego-drama for years. An amazing thing I noticed is when I finally started to follow Theo-drama like minded people came into my life. Just being aware of these two dramas helps me to recognize when I get off course and need to get back on track.

Bp. Barron has a consistent character tell that shows up in about ten percent of his homilies and other monologues. That tell reveals itself in his discussions that proclaim "Oh, bore me to death!" His self-effacing distain for those who will not embrace his "larger" view of the world, ostensibly those Rube Goldberg living myths that are modern Catholicism, lets us peak into the mind of Bp. Barron. A barn is also a great place to seek refuge in a storm, if you don't mind the odor. Keeps you dry, the horses are friendly, the hay is soft...
