I was a victim of SRA in my formative years. I was diagnosed with OSDD- 1 b, a severe Dissacotiative Disorder that develops to cope with severe and ongoing truama before the age of 8, before the personality is more solidified. I literally came running into the Catholic Church 6 years ago due to the symptoms of OSDD making itself fully known and demonic oppression/ obsession that had been following me on and off since a child. I met key Catholic people along the way since a child and it always stuck to my soul like a healing kiss. I remember (a part of me) wanting to be Catholic since I was 7 coming from an Atheist family. I'm in counseling now with someone trained in severe childhood trauma within my diocese and also went through a spiritual ministry to break the opression/ obsession. I have a ways to go, but my soul is beginning to rise from the malevolent scars that shattered my psyche. God bless you. There is no deeper wound than a sexual wound, especially that of a child. Prayers for your ongoing healing.

I have been Catholic my whole life I started saying the rosary daily four years ago at 76 years old although I went to mass weekly and did all what I thought a Catholic was required to do. I am a totally different person . I read and listen to you Bishop Barron daily, Listen to Father Mike's bible in a year, catechism in a year. Me too, I thought that going to Mass was enough. I started praying the rosary after Easter Sunday 2024. I realized as I am reciting the rosary, I am also praying a personal prayer in my mind for all my loved ones, friends, and the world. It's a surreal experience. The mind is saying another prayer, while the lips are reciting the rosary. It gave me the strength to read the Bible or listen to the 365 Bible in a Day Podcast, pray the Psalms, and do Reconciliation AFTER 7 YEARS! Been kinder and sincere to everyone. I interrupted her behavior as typical, however, dramatic age related outbursts- my bad. But I was as good as I knew how to be.
