Great video but you have to also put Stripe account in sandbox mode to match the sandbox mode of your site. That would have allowed all of the test credit card numbers to work as expected. Then, when you go live you change to live mode on your site AND live mode within your Stripe account to match. Otherwise, everything else you included here is totally out of the ballpark! Very nice, indeed!

I believe the test card issue was happening because you used the live secret key and live publishable key from stripe. Rather than using the test keys. So even though it was still in sandbox mode, I think it still defaulted to live due to the keys from stripe used in plugin. Not positive, but maybe.

Can I just clarify that I use the above steps with Paid Memberships Pro to setup my memberships and then if I want to give a member access to a dance course (on video) that they purchased, I would create a Course Page or Workshop Video Page (with Elementor), give the page the correct category settings and embed the video player (Voo Player??) with the purchased content onto that page? Any videos of yours to help address selling video courses online would be helpful. Cheers, thanks and hope you are well and safe. Shaunie P

This looks very similar to something I want to do, but coming at it from the opposite direction. Basically I have a website for a group of skilled professional bee removers. We have 3 levels of professionals, based on the skill level required to perform certain types of removals of increasing difficulty. Eg. "collect swarms" (class 1), "remove colonies not in a structure" (class 2), "remove colonies from structures" (class 3). The content of the site is open to the general public. When a person comes to the site looking for a professional to remove bees, they will need to select the type of removal they need done. The site then needs to present the user with a list of all of members can perform the job (ie. if they say "bees are in a tree", then it should list the members of both class 2 & class 3). Is this the plugin that I am looking for in order to help me do this?

Have you used Restrict Content Pro (RCP) as well? I am deciding on whether I use Paid Memberships Pro or RCP for a website that will use both bbPress and BuddyPress. RCP has a lifetime payment option which is kind of the deciding factor for me right now.
@wplearninglab6 жыл бұрын
I have never used RCP. I've used PMP and I use Memberium extensively, but Memberium is only for Infusionsoft users. I always find lifetime offers appealing, that's why I like AppSumo so much, lol. If RCP does what you need now and in the future, I would say go for it.

Im trying really hard to find a simple gateway that i think adult websites tend to use. Just Username, email, password + payment in one form. From then on they can login to a members area with username and password. It seems like all the payment plugins i find on KZbin all work identically (offering amazing flexibility and unlimited levels etc.. and all after a separate wordpress login with top toolbar .. which is all more than i want). Have i been overthinking this, or using the wrong search terms? Can you point me in the right direction? Any help appreciated!

Thanks for this video! Great stuff. I took lots of notes. What are the consequences of launching a new site/business today and not adopting membership but let's say in a year, add membership as an option to the site?
@wplearninglab7 жыл бұрын
Hi Christine, from a functionality stand-point there are no consequences of adding a membership component to your site/business a year from now. You just add it in when you're ready. From a business stand-point the biggest consequence is that you've spent a year NOT growing your membership site. But it all comes down to how much time and bandwidth you have to create the membership content. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!
@christinefiorentino6877 жыл бұрын
That is helpful. Membership is a smaller priority for the business goals. I need to focus on creating content/value and then courses. From there, my thought is to offer membership for one on one coaching. I'm in the infant stages of building now and think moving toward memberships is too soon but it is on my list. Just want to be sure that I won't mess up my audience at a later date with the technicalities of membership. Thanks so much!!

The membership levels are independent of the user roles. The best setup, and the default setup, is to have all members be "subscribers" as their user role and then PMP adds the membership level info to their user account. Hi Pelle, There are very few free options video storage and streaming. KZbin is one of the best, but your videos could be found on KZbin (even if they're set to 'unlisted). The plugin will make it so they can only use one free trial per user account. But there's nothing to stop someone from creating another account with another email address to get another free trial. You'd have to have a manual review.
