I think the thing that speeds up working in Blender the most when you're a beginner is getting familiar with the different selection options when you're in Edit mode. You touched on it in this vid with selecting different types of objects in Object mode but selecting faces using Linked Flat faces, Coplanar, Normal etc. is a total game changer when modeling imo

Totally agree with @BennoBei. The selection tools are great. I used the Pie Menu Editor addon to gather all the select by tools and select linked to one hot key. Saves so much time.

The very first tip shoudl be "Get into Blender 3.5" Performance wise it is the best release yet. Even if your importing stuff from DAZ Studio which can be a dog once you have a character fully rigged with MHX and all the apropriate corrections and so on. Same goes for the texture painting.

I used to use the copy and paste trick to work on complex scene, with having 2 blenders opened, model one object in a blender file then paste it into another. It works great on a 10 year old cpu and a rtx 2060, never slows down modeling.

I have always wished that Blender would skip an upgrade cycle and instead do a cycle where they make things they already have easier. There seem to endless examples of having to go through 3 or more steps every time you are setting something up. Or give me the ability to record my key strokes that I used often for something I always do and name it so all I have to do is select one of saved recorded key strokes and it's done. No more 3, 4, ...X keystrokes to do repetitive tasks. Or maybe that capability is already there I I don't know about it. If you have ideas or information about how to do repetitive tasks and I'm not talking about "Repeat Last" because that doesn't carry over to other projects. I'm looking for a series of recorded key strokes that invoke Blender processes that when I use it again I still have the ability to change parameters. Let's say I record the key strokes needed to set up blueprint images for front, back, top, bottom, and side. That is a time consuming process. But if had recorded the key strokes to do all of that and still have the ability to scale each so they are the same scale, that would save a ton of time. There is an addon that helps in that process. Probably can't be done, but it is wishful thinking.

Sounds like you're looking for Python scripting. It's not exactly easy but it's not rocket science either, with some effort you could make your own "addon" or pie menus or whatever else, to speed up your workflow. I recently had to dig into the window manager API to find a function for a custom keyboard shortcut I wanted, and honestly it wasn't as hard as I expected. Of course, you have to weigh the effort of learning to work with the API against the time wasted on all of your repetitive time-consuming processes. Might be the case that you waste more time automating. Certainly happened to me before.

The last two months i've been learning to write add-ons - blender is terrific for learning python, you don't have to be a computer scientist to do this! You'll have fun figuring out how to do the specific tasks you mentioned, and then with your new skills the hidden reward for this effort is you'll be surprised by all the other interesting things you can now do that you hadn't even thought of. Jump in the scripting world with me, the water is fine!!!! :)

Sky Texture eats render time if your object has a lot of faces. Some suggests in using alternative backgrounds to mimic the sky, but it takes a know-how to do.

Hold on there Ducky! There's 2 things I don't know anything about and its those 2 pesky boxes in the top right, Scene and layers... I never see anyone talking about these... I have no idea how or why I should be using them.... you can have multiple scenes open? How, why... what is this magic you talk of?
