Work Begins Filling The New Woodyard!🪵

Splitting and stacking in the new woodyard! Mulberry, Hackberry and Walnut is on the agenda!

It is a good idea to use IBC totes to split up your face cords. I use them on the end of rows for now. Usually 8 to 10 pallets in-between them. Once I get IBC quantities up, I will probably incorporate your idea into my rows. I use them the same way for cutoffs and also for specialty cooking wood. Nice splitting and stacking session for you all today. Keep warm and always get outside! 😁👍

Yeah it does seem to dry slower. We do split it a little smaller. You would think it would dry faster being it has less BTU🤷‍♂️ Thanks for watching Chris👊🏻

The ibc totes look like a good idea. My uglies just get tossed in a pile and then tossed on top of the stacked wood at the end. A tote would definitely save time having to pick them back up, then toss them out in the end when i want the good wood. I'll have to search around for a deal on totes. People want too much for them around me

Nice work fellas. I mix all my firewood similar to what you do. I have found that even the oak will dry down to 20% or less within a year, split the size I do. The mixed hard woods work great in our wood stove. Take care my friend

Yeah at first we were trying to keep it alll separate. I did it because of the drying times. Figured out just what you said. Even the oak dries in a year split down smaller. Mixing works better for us. Thanks for watching Bobby👊🏻🥃

Definitely not that nice here. Be fairly warm for the time year. Not much snow. I like the set up Place for the cut offs and the ibc cages holds up the face cord rows. 👏nicely done. Keep up the good work.

I need to come up with a system like you have where I can corral and sell crotchety and misfit pieces. I would need to build a pallet solution as I'm trying to avoid buying IBC totes. Really nice job in separating bundle wood from the less desirable pieces.

Yeah the totes are fairly inexpensive in our area so it works. I do have pallet totes built at the ends of the rows at the house. It works too! Just gotta have similar size pallets. Thanks for watching Bill👊🏻

It burns real well when seasoned! It does however make quite a bit of ash. We don’t pass it up when it’s free. Definitely not my favorite firewood but worth splitting. Thanks for watching 👊🏻
