The 401k account will be taxed when you are ready to retire. Make sure to invest the sooner the better with your employer. I took my early retirement at 55 after my 30 years of my service with an insurance company as a senior account underwriter with my business accounting degree. I started to withdraw my 401K account without any penalty. I can also collect my sos benefits at 62. Work smart, save smarter, and retire early. Good luck with your job. Greetings from Minnesota!

@@TheMrsJonasBrothers I believe the penalties are the same regardless of how old you are as long as you are not reaching the age of the retirement which is 65 year old. Unless it’s a law that apply in your state that I don’t know then it’s probably 30% but according to the law in Virginia, it’s 20% penalties plus some more deductions when file taxes return at the end of the year

There is an option as you can withdraw it with or without holding the federal taxes of 10%. They do not take out the state taxes but when you are filing your tax return at the end of the year, you might have to pay for it. For my case, I took it out within the low income brackets so I got all my taxes back at the end of the year. It can be tricky but if you know how to manage it, you'll save a lot of taxes so do not withdraw it a large amount unless you have to. You are still young so invest it smart with mix of funds. Always do your research with well-known investors. Feel free with any further questions. I can live with a comfortable life with my investments. Good luck!

If you look at the presentation slide footnote it say "Proprietary and Confidential." You should be careful what you share. Someone can report and you could potentially face penalty. US company is pretty strict when it come to export-control and proprietary information.

Ask the workplaces in America do offer the same benefit. Some places do give u any benefit beside the hourly pay. Not a lot of companies offer a good health insurance. U should mention the minus of America not only the plus one. On the other hand, u should mention about the surrounding people, which is about discrimination. There is a huge discrimination in the USA everywhere including the workplace. How much u make is totally out with the living situation over here or not? How much does the government take out from ur paycheck? How much u get in real? Is $17 hourly worth to live in the USA?

True, $17 after tax and insurance, 401K, you take home about $320 a week. Rental apartment, for the cheap dirty one is $1000 a month in most areas. how do you pay for food, utility, and other expenses ? You can’t, unless you have a roommate or just rent a room in someone’s house.

@@lovelovesongly It's a real struggle living in the USA. $17 an hour is consider living in poverty, it is called living life from "pay check to pay check." Many people become homeless. Some people in Cambodia think the USA is gold and glitter, but that glitter is fill with hatred, divisiveness, expensive, and a hopeless future. If you are in Cambodia, you should consider yourself lucky.
