It's great to finally see someone who has a similar need as I do. Multiple projects tracking status, people and notes, having to make and receive calls etc. I'm starting bullet journaling and struggling, thinking "all those KZbin bujo videos must be of people that don't really work!". Your video really helped a lot! Thanks!

Thank you, Luciano, I know exactly how you feel! After years of trying different planning systems, I had to pick-n-choose what worked, discard what didn’t and-in some cases-come up with a way to manage all the tasks, information, and moving parts encountered in a high pressure work environment. Glad you found it helpful and if you have any tips/techniques of your own, please share! Thanks for watching! 😊

Thank you! It is really nice to see how you organize a BuJo for a 7-5 job. I know people don't like the blurring effect, but I wanted to thank you for doing so, so that you can share with us what you do and keep your confidentiality untouched. Thanks for the ideas!

Glad you found it helpful, Diana! It’s a challenge trying to share real work examples while also protecting your employer’s information so I tried the blurring effect as an experiment. Some liked it, others didn’t but in the end I was able to at least achieve my goal and share the techniques I use at work. Thanks for your comment and for watching! 😊

That’s so nice to hear, glad you find it helpful! I wrote a blogpost a while back on how my system evolved over time, here’s the link if you’re interested (lildivette.com/my-first-planner-obsession/ ) and it continues to change as life changes. I hope to do a video soon once things ease up. Thanks again for rewatching! 😊📚

I just became a product owner and we are using the agile platform. This is spot on. I was saying to myself there has to be some template on how to capture all this information. This is great. I love bullet journals I have one for personal use. I think for this job I will need to use the disk system this will be easier for me to add and remove pages easily. I have a dotted page template. Print the pages at work and set up my layouts. Thank you so much.. your agile planning is vital for new PO's.

I really like how you customize your journals. While watching, I wondered if placing your "scrum" in a separate section as opposed to scrunching them on one line. That way, you can list the page and maybe a note regarding the material in a column format.
@LilDivette6 жыл бұрын
Hmmm...food for thought, LadyNik! Once I finish this book, I'll have a better idea of how much these notes take up in the book to see if there's a better way to track them. Thanks for the suggestion! 👍

The camera at onset of the video focuses more on the flower than the journal. While there isnt anything to focus on the journal yet, it hurts the eyes and distracts from the discussion. I've been looking forward to your updated video. I really like your approach and the way you explain this in the video. Great word choice, pacing and tone throughout which made it easy for me to follow what you are saying.
@LilDivette6 жыл бұрын
Hi Kristine, thanks for letting me know. The way I shot this video was an experiment because I'm trying to figure out a way to both show you everything in my journal with exposing any information. I'll check if there's a way to correct the focus so it's easier on the eyes. That said, hopefully the content made up for it and you found it helpful! Thanks for watching!

Hi! I'm so glad you posted this - I was actually planning to re-watch your old video this month so this is very timely for me. I've got another new big project kicking off and I wanted to use some of your ideas. Questions: - color coding - do you color code as you go or do you do it after the fact? i.e. meetings, tasks, etc. not the daily/weekly spreads. - do you find that the schedule helps you? I use Outlook for my calendar (like you) and color code (like you) by project, but I don't copy that into my notebook currently because things are so fluid and my schedule changes. I'm trying to decide if it would even be worthwhile to do so. - how do you keep from losing your tasks - things that come up during meetings that you need to do, daily tasks, or things that take more than one day to complete (or get deferred due to other priorities) -
@ThoughtsAlongLifesHighway6 жыл бұрын
Oh, and I also meant to say that the flower trick was a clever one. I loved being able to "see" your pages without your company confidential info being displayed.
@LilDivette6 жыл бұрын
+Lois Houston Hi Lois, welcome back! I'm also glad I finally got to film this video and that the flower trick worked--part of the delay was trying to figure out a way to show my journal without exploiting information. In regard to your questions: - I usually color code after the fact, at the end of my work day or the next morning; if it's a really crazy week, I'll do it at the end of the week. I try to keep to the former in case something comes up, I can quickly glance at it otherwise I have to read each line to find what I'm looking for.
@LilDivette6 жыл бұрын
+Lois Houston (questions continued): - I find that having my schedule on a page helps me assess how the daily tasks can fit into my day and overall week (I find it easier to flip between these pages--it's always open on my desk--than jumping between screens since I'm usually multitasking between other desktop programs). I rely on Outlook to 'ding' at the right time to give me a 15 minute warning and tell me when it's time to dial in but my page serves 3 additional purposes for my projects: to give me my weekly overview, track add-on calls (I don't always get a meeting invite for these, they just call), and to track time spent on specific project tasks which includes project and non-project related calls to log in a project timesheet at the end of the week (helps management determine if projects have adequate resources). Again, that's just what works for me and my project.
@LilDivette6 жыл бұрын
+Lois Houston (questions continued): - not losing tasks is a hard one. In Part 2 of my work bujo update video I'm going to share some bullet journal layouts I came up with to manage some of the 'moving parts' of a project which includes long running or future tasks but to begin, I have my Weekly Tasks list (it's behind my Weekly Calls list, to the right of my Project Updates featured in this video) which has tasks I have to get done sometime during that week. If a task comes up during a meeting, I put an asterisk in a circle next to it (*) to make it stand out on the page, and transfer it to my daily or weekly tasks list after the meeting. For tasks that take more than one day, if I started it on the daily, I just put a slash '/' thru the square to show it's been started and add it to daily list on the next day to continue; if it's not completely checked off by the end of the week, it gets transferred to next week's task list. I'll elaborate more in the Part 2 video. 😉 HTH!
@ThoughtsAlongLifesHighway6 жыл бұрын
Lil Divette I do something similar - the * next to an action item but I also highlight it in orange (the asterisk) and then it jumps out of the page at me when I scan later for outstanding items. I check the asterisk off once I complete it. And I TRY to review each day and make a list the next morning of any outstanding items.
