It sounds so nostalgic...sun is rising, hot summer, girls, beach and surfing...I just wanna cry or travel right now:D

I’m an 80s kid. Pet Shop Boys, Duran2, Tears, Howard Jones, and some really eclectic stuff. WD takes me back… like when there was a new one out from back in the day. My old ass…. will be jammin till I’m dead. (Picture the old cat that’s dancing with the cane, throws it and musses his hair… he’s one cool cat)

My top 3 in no particular order: American Fool Absolute Bearing The Edge of Forever Not sure why but I just felt like mentioning. I don't like the word "underrated" generally, but I gotta say you guys are def one of the most underappreciated bands of all time. In terms of views at least. A wildly interesting and strong discog with very few weak songs throughout. Hope you keep making music forever. I especially love the your lyrics and how you never settle into a specific style or type of writing. Much love.

My daughter was listening to this song and I find the lyrics to be extremely offensive. Hate us because they anus? The anus is a very sacred and private part of the body that is essential for all life. It's absolutely deplorable that they would joke about this.
@Workdrugs3 жыл бұрын
hate us cus they ain't us .... your lyrical misinterpretation makes no sense, and to quote ricky gervais , "just because you are offended, doesn't mean you're right" - cheers

this a rip off of You Can Do Magic by the band America stop stealing songs Work Drugs c'mon
@Workdrugs8 ай бұрын
it actually isn't , although i appreciate you trying to make the comparison , love and inspired by lots of yacht rock / am gold era tracks, and there are probably more direct connections in other songs, but i can emphatically say, american fool and america ain't one of them. if anything we tried making a song based on some lines from the movie 'the interview'. on this one anyway.

What about Seaspan you stole Seasonal Depression from Seaspan? and titled it expats or is Seaspan a moniker? im confused o you also stole Philip Baileys song with Phil Collins called Easy Lover & made youre version called it Boogie Lights@@Workdrugs
@Workdrugs7 ай бұрын
@@therandomchannel-cr7ox sea span is side project, put it out as sea span but then repurposed for work drugs - lots of examples of musical artists doing that over the years. counting crows put out round here as the himalayans then put it out as counting crows and it was a big hit. (just one example) honestly regarding boogie lights that song more closely resembles time heals from todd rundgren, just because we have similar hits as easy lover does not make it easy lover, that is like saying you take the steely dan shuffle (purdie shuffle) make a song and say you are ripping off steely dan, it is a rhythmic element, if you want to make the claim you are within your right to do so, but this feels a little more "gotcha" oriented than substantive based.
