That is a good idea. Some people don't know as much as you and others. Adding a 'level' in the description is a great idea! Thanks!

OK, here is my request; How can I make a window that can use phase filtering to have the whole window marked as demolished, or just demo the sashes (the parts that hold the glass). I work on older houses that are being remodeled and I need to make a special window family that accurately cuts the wall according to the type of window that is . Especially double hung windows with sash weights because they cut the wall 4" to 6" wider than fixed or casement windows. Sometimes we take out the whole window, but more often we leave the trim and frame in the wall and only replace the sashes with a modern insert and I never know what the contractor and customer is going to want until pretty far into the project. These window also typically have big sloped sills that go from the inside face of the wall and extend beyond the exterior face, and they frequently have horns on those sill that extend beyond the sides of the trim. Second question: What is the best way to deal with the nested trim system that seems to be on many of the stock window families?

If you need the window to be 'demolished' and the surround to 'remain'... the easiest way is to use 2 separate families. Revit DOES have functionality to make specific parts demo and other parts not...but it's the PARTS command to do that. You are getting into the weeds when you go that route, so I always suggest using 2 separate families. It's just easier that way. I have a video that explains PARTS if you want to go that direction.
