There is nothing better than getting up and doing what I want before the rest of the world takes my time. Also after the big brown belt smashes my life, I know the hardest part of my day is over. Nothing work can throw at me will be worse.

We started a 6:30am class. Went from once a week to four days a week. Started with just a couple now it’s packed.

I’m fortunate that the gym I train at has a morning class every day. Life gets in the way, kids, working away, but I try and get at least 2 classes a week. Is it optimal? No! Is it better than doing nothing, hell yes! People love to find a barrier.

My gym has a 6am class twice a week- that's my only opportunity to go most weeks.

I actually left a full time job to train more consistently. When I was young I used to work all day and go to class. Those days are over. lol. I had to change my entire lifestyle to train and not be a fat Wall Street broker.

Best thing to do as an option like Chewy mention is to petition a morning class. It can be sold as extending the business. Good luck, oss!

I've always found it weird that gyms or banks or whatever are typically only open whenever people are working their 9 to 5. My gym doesn't have showers, so I'd have to commute there, then home to shower, then commute again to work. This makes even a 6am class an issue since I have to be at work at 8. The latest evening class is 6pm when I get off of work at 5pm at best, so there's just the weekend left to train 😢

Hurt myself a year ago and been scared to go back since...I miss it but I can't afford to be crippled for work. ribs popped out on my back(made everything numb), elbow half popped out had to get in put back in, lost two teeth, concussion ...im 33 just wanting to get in shape and all that happened in 2 years of training. Left last Summer and been nervous to go back.

My ideal gym would be a pure nogi gym that had no gi bjj mon-Fri 3 times a day and early on Saturday and Sunday.

I had a white belt ask me if he could go light because he had an injury. I say, cool. Immediately as the roll begins he goes hard. I asked: I thought we were going light? As he's breathing heavily with his eyes honed in on me ready for the kill, he tells me, oh, I just meant that I wasn't going to use my speed. I'm, like, in what world does someone come to this conclusion. Luckily, he wasn't too big of a guy or a menace.

I work 2pm - 10pm mon - fri. So I attend weekdays All Levels noon - 1pm classes, plus fundamentals GI and "MMA" on Saturdays, at the grappling school right down the road from me (5 minute walk). I just started a few months ago, so All Levels is a bit hard for me, but if it wasn't for those noon classes and being SO close (since I don't drive), as an afternoon shift worker, I just couldn't be a martial artist and work afternoons. We kind of get screwed on that one. The only other option is 6am - 7am classes, which as a night owl who is up until at least 11pm and sleeps 9 hours, is out of the question. That said, I took off Tuesdays to train more, which I might change to Mondays. Deciding that 4 days a week is enough to live on and would prefer to train more, or get another job that will give me a better work life balance.

That what I do work from 8-4 then go train I love it wish I’ve been doing that shi my whole life I’m 20 now

Yeah, I think you should do private lessons. He needs to talk to his coach or his instructor and say hey I want to take private lessons. How much is it gonna be and could you do that for me and then see what happens

I wish I worked a 9 to 5. Most people these days work more like a 7 to 5.

Got an accounting job. I use my lunch to roll for 30 mins during my lunch at the noon class. Definitely an adjustment but I can still make it in 3-5 times a week 🤙🏻
