VERY NICE TUTORIALS, YOU INSPIRE ME MORE TO GO ON WITH MY BLENDER JOURNEY BECAUSE I WAS ABOUT TO GIVE UP. YOU MAKE LEARNING BLENDER VERY EASY & VERY CLEAR. THIS COULD HELP MUCH TO ALL BLENDER BEGINNERS NOT TO GIVE UP BUT STAND UP FOR THE CHALLENGE. GOD BLESS YOU & YOUR FAMILY.

I prefer the colorramp for this kind of operation, but to each his own. Its essentially the same thing in a different visual format.
@JohnnyMatthews2 жыл бұрын
Yup absolutely. I like this one for the visual representation in certain situations.

It’s not the same though, the curve allows you more control over the way easing takes place. There are certain shapes you wouldn’t really be able to create with colorramp

coloramp obviously for animation loop

I don't know if the float curve (and color ramp) parameters can be accessed from outside the node group, so to expose a 'pointiness' group input I changed the float curve to a couple of switches and greater than nodes. I suppose you could create a proper asset that allows for a variable number of gradient stops (I wouldn't know where to begin).

I would love it if there was a ramp or curve "input".

It would sure be nice if you can have 1 to 0.

I used the two together. Spline Parameter to control a shape curve, and the Endpoint Selection to control the amount of the thread curve the Spline Parameter and Float Curve affected. I also used the other ends Float Curve to offset on Z the end of the thread curve so that as the thread narrowed the top stayed aligned (well almost) with the rest of the threads angle. Sometimes I do almost feel like I understand GeoNodes... lol

Nicely done!

It's a pity that that you can't expose the curve to the group.
@zboy3032 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Also drop-downs can't be exposed to the group input. Although that would be easier to implement.
@JohnnyMatthews2 жыл бұрын
I think that both of these things are on the radar of the developers.

You could expose that radius input to the node then hook up the curve parameter and curve outside the node.
